Love Island’s Jack Fincham is in PRISON after ‘vicious dog attack’ on man

He pleaded guilty to two counts of owning a ‘dangerously out of control dog’

Jack Fincham, who won Love Island with Dani Dyer in 2018, has been jailed for six weeks after his dog attacked a man.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of owning a dangerously out of control dog at Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court today (January 29), the BBC reports.

It comes after his black Cane Corso Elvis attacked a man called Robert Sudell in Swanley, Kent, in September 2022.

The Sun has now reported that Jack has been released on bail while he appeals the sentence, although this hasn’t been confirmed.

The 33-year-old has also been ordered to pay £3680 to the courts, which includes £2,000 towards kennelling costs, a £961 fine and £200 compensation to the victim.

He will remain in jail for six weeks and a payment plan has been set up for him to pay £400 per month after he is released to cover the costs.

The Cane Corso bit Sudell while he was running and he was originally happy to accept an apology and a caution, with Jack agreeing to do a dog ownership course, the MailOnline reports.

However, he didn’t follow the three rules issued by the court: to always keep the dog on the lead, for the dog to wear a muzzle when outside, and to not leave the dog alone with anyone under 16.

He was also charged for another incident that happened in Grays, Essex, in June 2024, when the same dog grabbed a person’s calf and “applied pressure”.

The ex-Love Islander’s girlfriend, TOWIE star Chloe Brockett, was there watching in the stands while he got sentenced. She reportedly broke down in tears when his jail sentence was announced.

They first started dating in 2019 and had a pretty rocky relationship over the years, splitting up and getting back together numerous times. They enjoyed a spa break at Champney’s just days before he was sentenced.

Jack bought the dog from Russia in 2021 and was criticised because it has cropped ears. In the UK and Wales, cropping a dog’s ears is illegal under section five of the Animal Welfare Act.
