Justin Baldoni’s podcast hailed him as ‘good guy’ of 2024 just hours before Blake Lively complaint
The rap was soon followed by Blake Lively’s lawsuit
Just a few hours before Blake Lively’s sexual harassment legal complaint dropped, Justin Baldoni’s podcast posted a bizarre rap about the “Good Guys” of 2024.
This weekend, the months of feuding between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni climaxed into a damning legal complaint that accused the latter of sexual misconduct and spearheading a smear campaign.
After the initial story broke, Blake issued a statement that read: “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
Justin Baldoni’s podcast celebrated the “good guys” of the year, including him
We Are Man Enough is a Webby-nominated podcast that delves into what it means to be a man in the modern age. Hosted by Justin Baldoni, Liz Plank, and Jamey Heath, the podcast unpacks issues affecting men such as showing emotion, dating, ageing, and the power of self-love.
On Saturday, just a few hours before The New York Times dropped the legal complaint bomb, We Are Man Enough posted a rap roundup of the year alongside the caption: “And just like that, the 2024 season comes to an end! We’re honoring the best of positive masculinity this year with the incredible @dadgotbars What was your favorite #manenough moment? Share it in the comments below!”
Performed by rapper Dad Got Bars, who you might recognise from TikTok, the song called back positive masculine moments from throughout the year such as a football coach crying, dads and daughters finding common ground in Taylor Swift, and the growing support around mental health.

“I don’t know, we are getting there, if we do more work then they won’t choose the bear,” he added, noting the viral debate over women feeling safer with bears than men.
In the final few clips shared in the montage, Justin Baldoni features as the primary host of the podcast. His good man label was thrown into the air a few hours later when Blake Lively’s allegations came to light.
People are calling for the podcast to make a statement
Because of the awful timing of the Instagram rap, people have taken to the comment section to call for the podcast to make an official statement about the allegations posed to Justin Baldoni.
One person wrote: “So, ehm, guys, does positive masculinity include hiring spin doctors famous for defamatory campaigns and deploying them against your female lead?”
“You need to comment on your smear campaign,” another said.
Someone else wrote: “Please comment on the New York Times article about Mr Baldoni and Mr Heath as soon as possible. You guys and your work seemed like a beacon of hope, true role models of new masculinity.
“I loved following this account and seeing your content. If it is true though what the @nytimes writes — it would seriously shatter my worldview, especially my view on men once more. Can it be true this is really how you decided to deal with a crisis situation instead of dealing with it transparently and respectfully? @feministabulous Please don’t be silent on this either. Thank you!”
