Blake Lively issues statement after filing Justin Baldoni ‘sexual harassment’ lawsuit
He has denied the allegations
Blake Lively has issued a statement after accusing her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni of “sexual harassment” and alleging that he started a campaign to “destroy” her reputation.
The actress filed a lawsuit on Friday (December 20) alleging that Baldoni and the Wayfarer Studios CEO, Jamey Heath engaged in “inappropriate and unwelcome behavior towards Ms Lively and others on the set of It Ends With Us,” the BBC reports.
In a statement to the BBC via her attorneys, she said: “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
The 37-year-old also denied that she or any of her representatives have spread any negative information about Baldoni or Wayfarer Studios.
Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman has denied the allegations, saying: “It is shameful that Ms Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its representatives.”
He also alleged that her claims are “intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media”.
The lawsuit alleges that a meeting was held to discuss the “repeated sexual harassment and other disturbing behavior” on the film’s set.
According to the legal files, the meeting took place on January 4 to address “the hostile work environment” on set and was attended by Baldoni, Heath, Lively, and her husband Ryan Reynolds.

During the meeting, a list of 30 demands relating to the pair’s alleged misconduct was made to ensure they could continue to produce the screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel.
The legal filing also accuses Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios of a “multi-tiered plan” to wreck her reputation.
She alleges this was “the intended result of a carefully crafted, coordinated, and resourced retaliatory scheme to silence her, and others from speaking out about the hostile environment that Mr Baldoni and Mr Heath created”.
