Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively dragged for saying they both grew up ‘very working class’

Instant eye roll

I am actually convinced it’s physically impossible for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively to go more than a few weeks without getting themselves into a whole load of backlash, and they’ve only gone and done it again.

Following the horrendous claims about the alleged behaviour of Blake Lively on the set of It Ends With Us, alongside her questionable at best actions during the press tour I really thought she and Ryan would be doing their best to lay low.

As for what they’ve done now? Well, despite both of them growing up very comfortably and with Blake’s parents literally being producers and actors themselves, Ryan recently described both of their upbringings as “very working class.” Yeah, really not the move.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week, he explained that they both try not to “impose” their upbringing on how they raise their children.

He explained: “I try not to impose upon them the difference in their childhood to my childhood or my wife’s childhood.”

He continued, saying both he and Blake “grew up very working class, and I remember when they were very young, I used to say or think, like, ‘Oh God, I would never have had a gift like this when I was kid,’ or, ‘I never would’ve had this luxury of getting takeout,’ or whatever.

“Then I realized that that’s not really their bag of rocks to carry.”

Their claim has sparked major backlash from people who have pointed out that Blake’s parents both worked in the entertainment industry and she starred in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants when she was only a teenager.

Ryan had a slightly more modest upbringing with his father working as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Vancouver whilst his mother was a retail saleswoman.
