Journalist from *that* Blake Lively interview speaks out about ‘smear campaign’ involvement
Kjersti Flaa set the record straight after earlier branding Blake ‘rude’
After going viral in August for posting a 2016 interview that did not show Blake Lively in the best light, Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa has denied any part of the alleged “smear campaign.”
The It Ends with Us adaptation has been enveloped in controversy and scandal since day one. Both Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni weathered numerous allegations during the film’s initial run, with the former forced to address everything from marrying Ryan Reynolds on a plantation to using a film about domestic violence to market an alcohol brand.
Over the weekend, the feud was given new life when Blake issued a lawsuit against her co-star for alleged inappropriate behaviour and spearheading a smear campaign against her. With many people on Twitter connecting the dots between Blake’s statement and Kjersti Flaa’s interview, the journalist has spoken out.
Kjersti Flaa had ‘nothing to do with’ the smear campaign
In August, amid the countless negative stories about Blake Lively, Kjersti Flaa posted an 8-year-old interview with Blake and Parker Posey. After congratulating Blake on her “little bump”, because she was pregnant with her second baby, Blake sarcastically responded, “Congrats on your little bump.”
At the time, it added to the mountain of controversy associated with Blake.
Following the news over the weekend, the journalist took to Threads and YouTube where she set the record straight on her involvement in the so-called “smear campaign.”
“Just wanted to put it out there. I have nothing to do with Justin Baldoni and his smear campaign against Blake Lively,” she said. “I see that things are starting to snowball and people start thinking that I had anything to do with the smear campaign against [Blake].”

Kjersti Flaa made the statement just hours after the New York Times revealed the lawsuit which also detailed the litany of sexual misconduct allegations.
She added: “I also read the article in the New York Times this morning. I’ve been reading through the lawsuit and I see there’s been so much dirty work going on behind-the-scenes. I just wanted to say I had nothing to do with it.”
She also noted the damning text messages, firmly stating: “I would never take part in anything like that. That’s such an insult to me.”
Instead, she argued that she only posted the interview because “I had seen the movie. … I didn’t like it” and was generally fed up with Hollywood. She did not fear being “cancelled.”
