Egyptian Tourism Ministry claps back at MrBeast’s claims he privately rented out pyramids
Dare I say they’ve humbled him?
Right, so MrBeast recently claimed in a podcast that he’d privately rented out the actual pyramids of Egypt for 100 hours in order to film an upcoming video. As you can imagine everyone was very confused about the logistics of this, how much it would cost and how the pyramids could just shut for over three days just for MrBeast.
He revealed this during the Beyond the Records podcast with Noah Lyles, claiming that he hadn’t filmed the video yet, but he’s been given total access to the pyramids for 100 hours.

He explained: “We got all three of the pyramids of Egypt for 100 hours. I’m gonna do a video where they let me explore anywhere I want in the Pyramids.”
He added that the video will show him and his friends “sleeping in the pyramids” as they will have them “all to ourselves.”
When asked how he managed to get private access and permission to film he explained he worked with the Egyptian Government, adding: “I’d never been inside of it. I want to just find secrets and go through all the rooms and tombs and that kind of stuff.”
But now it turns out all of that might not even have been true after the Egyptian Tourism Ministry released an official statement to confirm he hasn’t actually rented the pyramids after all. Awkward.
The Ministry clarified he obtained a permit to film outside of the regular operation hours and that public access to the pyramids was maintained throughout his visit to the site.
The statement also elaborated on the nature of his upcoming video, explaining it’s for a series of promotional short films to showcase the beauty of the pyramids and he was accompanied by on-site archaeologists throughout the entire shoot.
