Lufbra comes 501st in global rankings

At least our sports teams smash everyone

Lufbra missed out on a spot in the top 500 universities in the world after a disappointing showing in global rankings released last week.

According to US News, we’re the 501st best university in the world.

With the result placing us number 223 in Europe and 41 in the UK, it’s hard not to doubt the study’s methodology.

US News forgot to assess all the things that makes this place great – including coming first place in the BUCS points table for as long as anyone can remember.

Or how we claimed top sport for Best Student Experience six years in a row.

We also have the best SU in the country

Predictably, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge all appeared in the top ten.

But these rankings tell us nothing new.

Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge are obviously amazing.

But Lufbra is a fantastic uni thriving in areas that are harder to quantify in a meaningless global table.

We must also remember the respectable Sunday Times survey ranked us 13th best in the country, ahead of Edinburgh, York and Nottingham.

So there.
