Storms knock down tree on campus

Windy as always

| UPDATED Loughborough weather

A bedraggled campus has been the victim of strong winds and heavy rains over the last few days.

The windswept look will continue as the weather remains poor for the rest of the week.

The forecast is showing wind and cloud  with temperatures at a low of 14 degrees. Saturday looks to be the only promising day.

Luff students are dressing for the cold, wet weather in their coats, scarfs and boots, as the autumn season begins to settle in.

The wind has been strong and has already had a dramatic effect on campus.

On Tuesday afternoon, the sheer force of the wind blew over a tree from the Brockington pitches onto the pavement on Margaret Keay Way. Luckily, the tree fell right so it missed cars and passers-by.

One onlooker commented:

“I can’t believe how strong the wind is at the moment. Thank goodness no one was there at the time or it could have been serious.”

Another student told The Epinal:

“What a sudden change in weather, winter is definitely on its way.”
