Emily in Paris creator confirms the future for one vital character for season five
I have very mixed feelings
It’s been two weeks since the Emily in Paris season four finale changed lives, and speculation around the fifth season is already rife. But, Darren Star, the Emily in Paris creator, has shared a somewhat disappointing update on what season five could mean for the future of a vital character.
In a recent interview with The Wrap, Darren confirmed that Camille will “probably not” return in season five of the popular Netflix show.
However, that’s not to say her story is going to be completely cut. Darren clarified: “I think she’s always going to be part of the series — she’s part of their world and I would never rule out the fact that we’re going to see her again.”
He also said that “her story is going to continue,” but not to hold our breath for her actual return to the show: “Characters can come in and out of a series, but you don’t necessarily have to see them.” Looks like it could be au revoir to our favourite French blonde after all.
In all fairness, it’s not like she’s being dramatically cut out of the show. Her storyline was very much wrapped up in season four, and it does feel like a natural place to lose her if we do.
Although, hope is not all lost. Darren did hint at bringing her back for a small cameo: “We may or may not. I don’t know how much of Camille we’ll see next season. But again, she’s part of the world of the series. I’m not sure how soon we’ll see her, but it doesn’t mean, again, that we won’t be seeing her.”
There’s just too much to be excited about for the future of the show, and now I can’t stop thinking about if Camille will return. Season five of Emily in Paris is going to bring it!!
