So, who was Lyle Menendez’s girlfriend Jamie and where is she now?

She’s launched her own real estate agency!

During Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on Netflix, we’re introduced to Lyle’s former girlfriend, Jamie. It is said she met Lyle around the time he was heading to Princeton, and it was a relationship Lyle’s parents very much didn’t approve of.

Lyle and Erik killed their parents José and Kitty Menendez in the family home on August 20th, 1989. In March 1990, the Menendez brothers were arrested for their parents’ murders and placed on trial. They were found guilty, and have been in prison ever since.

Jamie gave evidence in the later trial of Erik and Lyle, and was a key part of Lyle’s life for a very long time. So, what was Lyle’s relationship with Jamie like and where is she now? Here’s all the latest.

Lyle Menendez met his girlfriend Jamie whilst applying for Princeton University

When Lyle Menendez first applied for Princeton University, he was rejected. Then, whilst waiting on his second application, Lyle met Jamie Lee Pisarcik, who was at the time working as a waitress at a local restaurant. Jamie was five years older than Lyle, and like him, played tennis. The couple met in 1986, and were an item within weeks.

Much like it was shown in the Netflix series, Lyle’s parents José and Kitty didn’t approve of Jamie – they thought she was only interested in Lyle because he had rich parents. They tried multiple times to get their son to break up with her.

In 1987, Lyle was accepted to Princeton, and that summer announced he and Jamie had got engaged. Shortly before Lyle started uni, Jamie moved to Alabama to teach tennis. The couple were reportedly on and off over the years, and Lyle is said to have had another relationship, with a 30-year-old model, in 1990. Distance became a bit of a struggle, and Jamie wanted to focus on her career in tennis.

Jamie Lee Pisarcik gave testimony about Lyle at the Menendez brothers’ trial

After the murder of José and Kitty, Jamie and Lyle got back together, and she believed the brothers were innocent. She gave testimony during the brothers’ trial, where she expressed her wish to marry Lyle. During her testimony, she was asked a lot about Lyle Menendez wearing a hair piece – and if brother Erik had known he was losing his hair.

In the Netflix show, we saw Jamie visit Lyle in prison, and he asked her to lie and claim José had sexually assaulted her – this was apparently based on real events, and did happen.

Decades on from the Menendez trial, where is Jamie Lee Pisarcik now?

It’s clear Jamie has very much moved on with her life now, and has left the previous court case and Menendez story behind her. For a while she kept her career in tennis going, and after stepping back from being player she was the Director of Sales for the Tennis Specialty Group at Reebok before serving as an Athlete Manager, Director of Tennis, and Product Management Executive at K-Swiss.

After then, Jamie had a career change, and became a real estate agent. She earned her broker’s license and then launched her own firm, McDevitt Town and Country Properties, in 2007. She now specialises in golf properties, equestrian estates  and single family properties.

Jamie is now 61, and living in North Carolina. She is now Jamie McDevitt as she got married, but it’s been reported this relationship broke down. According to her Facebook profile she is single, and it looks as though Jamie is a happy dog mum, thriving in her new career. Jamie also does volunteering work, helping at the Humane Society of Moore County, by fostering animals to give them a forever home.
