So, this is what the villa looks like when Love Island isn’t filming and it feels so wrong to see
ITV really said a firm ‘no’ to any signs of character
There are some pictures of what the Love Island villa looks like when the Islanders aren’t living it up there, and I can’t lie to you, it feels illegal to see the home this way. When ITV hasn’t plastered neon signs and bean bags all over the place, it’s actually a really characterful Spanish getaway.
The house is near Sant Llorenc in Mallorca, and when cameras aren’t rolling there, is a six bedroom, seven bathroom villa that can be rented for up to 12 people. According to the listing, its main selling points are being in a “completely secluded location” within a “vast, hilly estate”.
The house can be rented from €700 a night, depending on when in the season you’d wish to visit. Ironically, the listing describes the land its on as “untouched” – apart from for eight weeks every year when a bunch of single young British people run riot over it, of course.
“A true refuge for friends of nature and travellers who like to spend their holiday away from the tourist hordes in complete peace,” the site reads. The interiors are a million miles away from that of the Love Island villa. The villa is filled with neon lights and signs, bright furnishes and everything just feels quite ~harsh~.

However, the listing for the villa the rest of the time says the “decor satisfies even the most sophisticated taste and is a pleasure to look at.” It’s filled with actual family home furniture, like sofas and a dining table, and these are all wood and full of Spanish charm and warmth.
I really can’t get over seeing how the layout really looks, as well as the walls covered in actual art work instead of silly signs that say rubbish like “crack on” and “my type on paper”.
It looks as though Love Island really gets to work on the outside space, building the fire pit and other seating areas for our Islanders. Every year we see pictures of builders spending days making the villa look how it does on screen for us, when usually it is much more simplistic in style.
The villa has great reviews from people who have stayed there, averaging at 4.6 stars. “Wonderful finca [estate], more beautiful in real than in the pictures! And the fantastic long pool, a dream. Highly recommended,” one person said next to a five star review. Another said: “Beautiful finca. Great location. Sensational!”
I hope the Islanders appreciate the work that goes into changing up where they stay!
