A brief history of all of Paul’s desperate attempts to get famous before The Traitors

He literally had his own TV show in 2012

Whether you like him or not, there’s no denying that Paul from The Traitors has been playing the game well. Traitor Paul has so far managed to be completely unassuming, proving himself to be a good actor and also getting voted as the most popular contestant. It may come as no surprise to some considering his affinity with the tactics and skill of the game in The Traitors, that he has actually been on other TV shows in the past.

Fans of the BBC game show were quick to realise they recognised the 36-year-old and began to question his motives, whether he was clout chasing or actually wanting to play the game. Whatever Paul’s reasoning for going on The Traitors, here are all his desperate attempts at fame and the other shows you recognise Paul from:

Paul was previously on Deal or No Deal

Paul appeared on Deal or No Deal back in 2010 when he was only 22 years old and unemployed. He said at the time that along with winning the prize pot, he hoped by appearing on the Noel Edmond hosted show that it would launch his modelling career. Alas, that doesn’t seem to have worked.

The now 36-year-old however only came away with but a small of portion of the £250,000 total possible prize money. Speaking of his time on the show and working with Noel, he said at the time: “I don’t know whether that was just me, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off him. You know, some people are just born for the job they’re in. He was born to be a host on that show. He did it so well.”

In 2012, he even had his own TV show

12 years ago Paul was on a TV show called Guest for the Backflip which was on the Dutch Extreme Sports Channel. Whilst the seemingly only surviving clip from the show that remains on the internet doesn’t have any sound, it can be deduced that Paul is an amateur sportsman and the show follows him as he attempts to learn how to do a back flip on a bike.

He is a regular guest on comedian Joe Wilkinson’s podcast

Aside from his TV appearances, Paul is also known for being a frequent guest on the Chatabix podcast hosted by comedians Joe Wilkinson and David Earl. It was actually Joe and David who introduced Paul to The Traitors and encouraged him to apply for it, saying that they think “he’d win it.”

The first three episodes of The Traitors UK season two are available on BBC iPlayer now. For more like this roundup of other shows you recognise Paul from The Traitors from and the best music, reality TV and entertainment news, like Pop Culture Shrine on Facebook
