We asked a relationship expert who will be crowned the winners of winter Love Island 2023

After two months of wind and the occasional sign of sun, the winter Love Island 2023 final is slowly creeping in. The new winners of Love Island will be crowned on March 13th and then it’ll only be three months until we’re introduced to a whole new cohort of Islanders.

Whether you are a die hard fan of Love Island and have been rooting for OG couples from the very start or have switched it up and are rooting for a pair of bombshells, all will soon be revealed.

Heart Bingo has teamed up with relationship expert and co-founder of dating app So Syncd, Louella Alderson, to predict the winners of Love Island 2023, and share her thoughts on the compatibility of the current couples.

Kai and Sanam

Kai and Sanam won the hearts of the nation ever since they recoupled during Casa Amor, and it’s very fair to predict they could be crowned the winners of Love Island 2023. It’s no surprise Louella thinks they are the most compatible out of the other couples.

Louella said Kai and Sanam have undeniable “genuine chemistry” and them staying out of drama has boded well for them. “Kai and Sanam have been genuinely loving and supportive of each other throughout their time on the island, and it just goes to show that real love doesn’t always need to be turbulent,” she explained.

“They’re proving that you need a foundation of open communication and mutual understanding to make a relationship work.” Louella described the couple as “down-to-earth individuals” who know how to communicate with one another, “honestly and openly”.

Louella added: “Life outside the villa could be really great for this couple, as they have the perfect foundation to build a lasting relationship.”

Samie and Tom

Tom and Samie may not being the viewers’ good books at the moment, but there’s no denying their chemistry. Despite not having the most straightforward journey in the villa, “Casa Amor clearly worked for them,” according to Louella.

She said: “It make Tom realise how much he liked Samie and made him more open about his feelings for her. They’ve been able to make up for lost time since then. They clearly enjoy each other’s company and find it easy to be around one another. They seem genuinely supportive of each other and make a great team.”

Their “undeniable sexual chemistry” is working in their favour also. Louella explained: “This could be just the start for them outside the villa, as they have all the makings of a strong and long-lasting couple. Provided they can avoid drama and focus on communication, they should be able to make it work.”

Will and Jessie

Will and Jessie haven’t had the easiest journey in the villa but they have always “full had each other’s backs” in any situation. “Will has been a rock for Jessie and stood up for her when others have made judgements about her,” Louella explained.

“Jessie really appreciated this and has put Will’s behaviour in Casa Amor behind her. It’s important to stick up for your partner because they are a part of your team and you want them to feel supported. By displaying loyalty and respect, it strengthens the bond between partners and reaffirms their trust in one another.”

However, Louella doesn’t think Will and Jessie’s relationship could work long distance if Jessie moves back to Australia and their relationship depends on whether Jessie moves to the UK or not.

Shaq and Tanya

Shaq and Tanya are the second least compatible couple in the winter Love Island villa and despite their “genuine chemistry”, Louella thinks they need to work on their issues to have “longevity outside the villa.”

Louella said: “Shaq showed he was quite a jealous person and this isn’t something that sat well with Tanya as it reminded her of her ex. Tanya has also been quite immature at times. She seems like someone who wants what she sees in front of her but doesn’t necessarily think about the consequences of her actions.”

For Shaq and Tanya to make their relationship work, Louella believes they need to learn “how to compromise and trust each other”. “They need to learn to accept each other’s flaws, be open and honest with one another and have realistic expectations of the relationship,” she explained.

Ron and Lana

It’s fair to predict that the Love Island 2023 winners will not be Ron and Lana. Louella believes Ron and Lana are the least compatible couple on Love Island due to their lack of sexual chemistry, something a lot of viewers have picked up on too. Louella said: “It’s important for couples to have physical chemistry and have fun together. Otherwise, there’s a risk that there’s no real spark.”

Much like the public, Louella has picked up on Lana’s feelings for Ron being stronger than his for her. She said: “This imbalance of power can be challenging to manage in a relationship long-term. Over time, one person can feel like they are giving more of themselves to the relationship than they are receiving. Relationships can’t survive on just one person’s emotions, so this could be an issue if Lana and Ron make it out of the villa together.”

However, if Ron and Lana do want a successful relationship outside of Love Island, Louella believes they need to “continue building trust and open communication whilst making sure they have fun in their relationship too.”
