GUYS! The start date for winter Love Island has been reported and it’s just weeks away
This is not a drill!!!
Winter Love Island is officially back, and the return of the South Africa villa is only weeks away, with the start date reportedly coming to our screens on 16th January 2023.
Winter Love Island 2023 will launch a new era for the show, as Maya Jama steps into the shoes of Laura Whitmore and takes over as the host of the show. It’s only been a few months since we saw Ekin-Su and Davide take the win in August, but it literally feels like this Love Island drought has been years. I for one am DYING for a fresh new shakeup for the show, and can’t wait to see how the Maya Jama era plays out.
This will be the second winter Love Island ever, following the 2020 one that saw Paige Turley and Finn Tapp take the win. It was a season of firsts: The first time a season took place in South Africa, in a brand new villa, and the first season presented by Laura Whitmore, who took over from Caroline Flack.
The big change with the next winter Love Island is that the villa in South Africa is no longer a villa, but a swanky manor with amazing views of the South African landscape. The house, which is environmentally friendly and generates its own electricity, has views of local vineyards, eight bedrooms, an outside dining area, large kitchen and an open plan dining room. Plenty of space for drama, arguments and secret kisses.
The 2021 winter Love Island ended up being scrapped, due to the impact of the ongoing Covid pandemic. I can’t wait to see how it all goes on winter Love Island 2023 on the start date of 16th January!
