Don’t get nightmares

Channel 4’s creepy new dystopian drama, The Undeclared War, kicked off last week (30th June). Not to sound biased, but it’s already looking like one of the best, most-gripping series of the year.

The story hits ridiculously close to home, as Britain declares cyber-war on Russia after Putin’s henchmen hack into our coding. I don’t know what that means either, but, hey. We’ve got Adrian Lester as a Prime Minister!!

A number of famous faces star in this series, but where exactly do we know them from? Here’s where you recognise the cast of The Undeclared War:

Simon Pegg

The Channel 4 drama is fronted by legendary actor Simon Pegg. If you don’t immediately recognise him from the Cornetto Trilogy – first of all, I feel sorry for you. But you might also know him from Truth Seekers, Ready Player One and Star Trek Beyond.

Hannah Khalique-Brown

Hannah gives such an AMAZING performance as Saara, it’s hard to believe this is basically her big break. She’s previously been in Doctors and a couple of short, indie films. Personally, I’m super excited to see what she goes onto next. Hollywood, snap her up ASAP please!

Maisie Richardson-Sellers

Kathy’s a character who refuses to take shit from anyone, played brilliantly by Maisie Richardson-Sellers. You’ll definitely know Maisie from The Kissing Booth 2 and 3, as well as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Adrian Lester

Fans of a good crime drama will *definitely* recognise Adrian – and will also be pleased to hear he plays our Prime Minister in The Undeclared War. He starred as the doomed Joel Nutkins in ITV’s Trigger Point, as well as Professor Marcus Shaw in London Spy and Robert Carver in Riviera.

Tom McKay

If you know anything about iconic noughties shows, you’ll no doubt know Tom from Primeval – but in The Undeclared War, he plays ultra-intelligent coder, Max. He’s also starred in The White Queen, The Suspect and Devils.

Mark Rylance

There’s no two ways about it, Mark Rylance is a hugely famous Hollywood star. He played the BFG in… uh, The BFG; Mr. Dawson in Dunkirk and Anorak in Ready Player One. Mark doesn’t show up until a few episodes into The Undeclared War, so you’ll have to be patient.

Kerry Godliman

You’ll 100 per cent recognise this comedy icon from shows like After Life and Taskmaster. She also played Sonia Reeves in Trigger Point, alongside Adrian Lester and Vicky McClure.

Edward Holcroft

Edward has been in a number of very-British shows and films. He starred alongside Colin Firth in the Kingsman franchise, as well as playing George Boleyn in BBC’s Wolf Hall.

The Undeclared War is available to stream on All4 now.
