A shooting happened at a McDonalds in Florida, and the Sheriff’s jokey response was WILD
‘It was a McMess’
Only in Florida could a drive-thru meltdown turn into a full-blown “McMess”. A Polk County Sheriff has gone viral for his hilarious response to a McDonald’s shooting in Davenport, after his official video briefing somehow turned into a pun-packed McStandup routine.

The chaos started on Saturday the 12th of October, when 21-year-old McDonald’s employee Yoan Soto was working the overnight shift. Two customers, Peter Story, 19, and Nicholas Jones, 18, reportedly got hangry about the wait time. Sheriff Grady Judd said the store was “overwhelmed” with online orders, but Soto apologized, explaining they were “way behind”.
Apparently, that wasn’t good enough. The two teens allegedly threatened to wait for Soto to finish his shift so they could attack him. Instead of ignoring them, Soto helpfully informed them that his shift ended at 4:00 AM, which, in hindsight, maybe wasn’t the best move.
Security footage shows the pair entering the McDonald’s and confronting Soto again, before things got even worse. Judd said the customers “continued to threaten” the employee, reportedly wielding a “switch” and a “30-clip”. Soto, fearing for his safety, pulled out a firearm — and when the two allegedly tried to grab it, he fired, hitting one in the neck.

Thankfully, the wound was minor, but the sheriff didn’t miss the chance to turn the incident into a McComedy routine.
“The 22-year-old steps between them trying to stop this kerfuffle… we can call it a ‘McRattle,’ and that’s not a sandwich,” Judd said during his briefing.
It didn’t stop there: “It’s a blessing it was a very minor wound, but you know what? When you start shooting McGuns, you get people’s McAttention.”
Sheriff Judd then called the entire situation a “McMess”, adding, “We are McGood at investigating McCrime.”
According to Judd, Soto fled the scene, or as the sheriff put it, became “McScared” after the customers ran off. He was later charged with tampering with evidence for picking up shell casings before leaving. Meanwhile, the two teens face trespassing and disorderly conduct charges.
Judd ended the briefing with a message that can only be described as peak Florida energy: “He has a right to stand his ground and protect himself… It was just a McMess, but we’ll sort it out.”
The sheriff’s office posted the video on Instagram with the caption: “Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured. Maybe next time you’re hungry, go to the Davenport Diner. Everyone is always happy there and ready to serve up some yummy food!”
The comments section is exactly what you’d expect.
“Love the sheriff, his briefing was McAmazing!!!!” one person wrote. Another said, “Sounds like a typical McNight in McFlorida. Soto is the hero. Please let him out of McJail and give him a McMedal!”
At this point, it’s hard to tell if this was a crime report or a comedy sketch. Either way, Florida has once again proven it’s the undefeated champion of absolute chaos, and nobody does McMayhem quite like them.
