Family issues heartbreaking statement after Celeste Rivas identified as body in D4vd’s Tesla
Her funeral is scheduled for October 5
The family of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas has issued a statement after she was identified as the teenager found dead inside pop singer D4vd’s Tesla earlier this month.
Celeste’s body was discovered on September 8 in a tow yard in Los Angeles. Police said she had been hidden in the front boot of the vehicle, inside a bag. Officers were first alerted after reports of a “foul odour” coming from the car. At the time, D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, was away on tour, but his team told NBC that he is “fully cooperating” with the authorities.

Yesterday, Celeste’s family issued a statement through a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral costs. “As many of you know, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the body found last week. She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend,” the family wrote. “Her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. They are seeking help to lay her body to rest.”
According to the fundraiser page, her funeral is scheduled for October 5. The campaign has raised just over half of its $20,000 target.
Celeste’s mother previously told TMZ that her daughter had been missing since May 4, 2024. Police confirmed that Celeste had a tattoo on her right index finger that read “Shhh…”. It was also reported that D4vd has a similar tattoo in the same place as Celeste.
Meanwhile, the investigation is still ongoing. Police raided a Hollywood property linked to D4vd on Wednesday night, but no arrests have been made. Authorities have not named a suspect or person of interest.
