‘Unacceptable in 2025’: Bershka called out for seemingly editing models to appear thinner
‘You are causing body dysmorphia to a whole new generation’
Bershka is in hot water right now after being outed for seemingly editing photos of models on its website.
A TikTok posted this week showed two different versions of the same photo on Bershka’s website, with one looking like it had been manipulated to make the model thinner.
Captioned “Upsi Bershka”, user Estefania’s video racked up over 800k views and had commenters angry at the clothing company, with some claiming it was “causing body dysmorphia.”
In the clip, Estefania scrolls her mouse left and right to flick between the photos, showing clear differences between them both.

Commenters on the TikTok were disappointed in Bershka, with one user Victoria writing: “THAT’S CRAZY and the original looks better too.”
Another user tagged Bershka in a comment, writing: “@Bershka unacceptable in 2025, you are causing body dysmorphia to a whole new generation.”
This wasn’t the only edited photo on Bershka’s website that people noticed. A photo showing a side by side comparison of another model photo wearing the Jacquared corset top was also shared on TikTok.

In the side by side comparison, the model’s collarbones are noticeably visible in one photo but not the other.
One person claimed how “this is actually so important to expose”, whilst another wrote: “That’s crazy and the original looks better too.”
Others explained how they would be more likely to buy clothes which are modelled on more “realistic” bodies, with one user writing: “For me it’d actually make me more likely to buy seeing it on realistic bodies.”
This isn’t the first time clothing companies have been called out for their advertisements or imagery, with a recent M&S advert from being banned for its model looking “unhealthily thin”.
