Bonnie Blue hits back at claims she ‘victimises’ young men in her videos

‘No one is crying victim’

Bonnie Blue has responded to the claims that she “takes advantage” of and “victimises” young people she films with, and in true Bonnie fashion, she’s not having it.

If you’ve somehow missed her rise to NSFW fame, Bonnie, aka Tia Billinger, is the former OnlyFans star who made headlines for reportedly sleeping with over 1,000 men in 12 hours. Whether you believe the maths or not, it’s safe to say she knows how to get people talking. Since then, she’s built an eye-watering £600k-a-month empire, gained a loyal following online, and this year, got her own documentary on Channel 4. Casual.

But her success hasn’t come without criticism. Recently, Bonnie’s been accused of manipulating young men into having sex on camera, some of whom were apparently virgins. People have called her work “predatory,” suggesting she’s exploiting naive students under the guise of “empowerment.”

Now, she’s hit back and she’s not exactly begging for forgiveness

Speaking to JOE, Bonnie said, “People make out that either I’m a victim or the people I’ve slept with are victims. No one is crying victim, no one is saying they’re being hurt.” She went on to call out the fact that it’s people who aren’t even involved making the most noise. Bit of a theme these days.

She also reckons she’s being used as a scapegoat for much wider issues. “Unfortunately terrible things happen to women, but that’s not me. I’m not the one that dome those terrible things, that’s responsible, and yet I’m the one that’s getting blamed.”

She added, “Instead of using their voice to promote the amount of men that’s hurting women, or that have out women in difficult situations, they’re talking about me. They’re saying I’m responsible and that’s not the case at all.”

And yes, she’s well aware that people think she’s the problem but she doesn’t buy it. She said, “I’m responsible for consensual enjoyable sex, the rest? I’m not really to blame or responsible for.”

Channel 4 has also received a lot of negative criticism

The backlash comes not long after Channel 4 aired 1000 Men and Me: The Bonnie Blue Story. It’s a doc that’s had its own share of controversy thanks to its “explicit” scenes. Many viewers have called it a “glamourised” take on Bonnie’s lifestyle. Channel 4 clapped back too, saying the content was editorially justified and not at all gratuitous. The network called Bonnie’s story “an accurate portrayal” and defended its decision to air it after the watershed with clear warnings. So, all above board apparently.

Still, not everyone’s convinced. A recent government report found a clear link between porn consumption and harmful attitudes towards women. This is something people say creators like Bonnie contribute to, whether they mean to or not. And with new UK laws requiring ID for accessing adult sites, the whole industry’s under a brighter spotlight than ever.

But Bonnie doesn’t seem too pressed. Whether it’s getting dragged online, accused of ruining men, or being the face of a moral panic, she always has something to say, and it’s rarely what people want to hear.
