‘I have one daughter’: Here’s where the super catchy TikTok sound comes from
I literally can’t get this song out of my head
Have you been humming “I have one daughter” for the past few days after being inundated with TikTok videos using this sound? If you answered “yes” then you’ve been suffering the same fate I have.
It’s catchy, repetitive, and honestly slightly confusing. It’s also everywhere on everyone’s For You Page. I mean, so far on TikTok, there are tens of thousands of videos already featuring this song.
But, have you actually thought about where this irritatingly catchy TikTok “I have one daughter” sound actually comes from?
Well, if you have, let’s break its origins down.
It’s actually from Tinder

Yes, this catchy tune originates from Tinder, but not in the way you might think.
TikTok user Lewky creates fun songs by singing out Tinder conversations to jolly tunes. And “I have one daughter” is just one of those songs.
His video has already amassed over 1.2 million likes and nearly 14 million views.
In the Tinder conversation, one person asks the other if they have any kids, to which they reply the famous line of “I have one daughter”.
This is when they ask how many baby daddies they have, with the person replying again with “I have one daughter”.
But this first person just can’t grasp the idea that if you have one child, that child would more than likely only have one biological father.
This is when they say: “I understand but is she by the same father?”

There’s a back and forth, and then it ends with “I don’t understand”.
The video is hilariously made with the singer, who also calls himself The Incredible Sax Boy, dressing up in a wig for the second person’s part.
It’s also just one of many videos he does with the same premise.
So, what actually is the trend?

The trend is usually a back and forther conversation between two people, with the chat being a bit rogue, and one person just chatting absolute nonsense.
Then, the secondary person normally ends on “I don’t understand”, as you guessed it, they have no idea what the first person is talking about.
So, if you’ve had any wacky conversations in the past, this is for sure the trend to use when sharing them to TikTok.
