Erm, how did the internet just forget this HUGE celebrity died over a decade ago?
I swear to god I saw an interview with him last week
Somehow, despite dying over a decade ago, the internet seems to have collectively forgotten that this prominent business figure had passed away. Seriously, even I was blissfully unaware of their passing until this very week.
That celebrity is noneother than Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, who had a net worth of $10.2 billion when he died in 2011. At this point, you’re proboably rolling your eyes and screaming “of course he died, you silly, silly person”, but don’t shoot the messenger – I’m not the only person who thought Steve was still out there making our iPhones.
There are literally dozens of videos on TikTok of people discovering the sullen news for the first time, and even in the comments, people are calling it a byproduct of the Mandela effect.
“This is one of the biggest Mandela effects. I seriously thought that he was alive,” one person said on TikTok.
Another wrote: “Wait, he died in 2011? I mean, I was 9 when he died, so I’m not surprised I don’t remember, but I thought he was alive this whole time.”
Things aren’t much better over on Twitter, with surprised tweets about Steve Jobs being dead popping up every couple of weeks.

On Google Trends, which tracks what people are searching online for, “Is Steve Jobs dead?” and many other variations routinely pop up. Even when you increase the time frame to the past 12 months, there are a great deal of people Googling details about his passing.

Right, so when did Steve Jobs actually die?
Now we’ve revealed that Steve Jobs is, in fact, dead, here are the details of his passing you’re only 15 years late reading. Steve died back in 2011 at the young age of 56 after receiving a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in 2004.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve,” Apple said in a statement at the time.
“His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”
To be honest, I’m still not convinced.
