Oxbridge produced so many
The Sunday Times has unveiled its 40 under 40 Rich List, of the wealthiest young people in the UK in 2025. Icons like Adele, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles and Dua Lipa made it onto the list. 15 millionaires on the list actually went to Oxbridge and other Russell Group unis. I guess these are the unis to head for if you too have no principles and only care about making a stupid amount of money? So, here are the Russell Group unis which produced the most people on The Sunday Times 40 under 40 rich list in 2025.
University of Bristol – 1
Barney Hussey-Yeo has racked up a £161 from financial services. He did a Master’s in machine learning at Bristol.
University College London (UCL) – 1
Ayman Rahman runs an energy company called Dare, and has £307 million. He studied economics at UCL.
London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) – 2
Martin Kissinger founded Lendable, and now has a net worth of £200 million. He did an undergrad degree at LSE, and a Master’s at the University of Oxford.
The founder of Holiday Swap and Global Airlines, James Asquith, also went to LSE. His net worth is £183 million.
Newcastle University – 2
The current Duke of Westminster is called Hugh Richard Louis Grosvenor. He has a whopping £9.884 billion fortune from property and investments. He did an undergrad degree in countryside management at Newcastle University, which I had no idea was a uni subject.
Phil Beahon started the sportswear company Castore with his brother. They both have a net worth of £350 million. Phil studied law at Newcastle University.

Mati Staniszewski is a founder of ElevenLabs, a speech synthesis tech company. He has £665 million. He got a first in maths at Imperial.
The chief operating officer of Improbable, Peter Lipka, studied computer science at Imperial. His net worth is a wild £128 million.
University of Oxford – 5
Lady Charlotte Wellesley is the daughter of the Duke of Wellington and a great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Of course she is. She married a billionaire called Alejandro Santo Domingo, who made a fortune through beer companies, and now has a whopping net worth of £2.661 billion. She studied anthropology and archeology at the University of Oxford.
Piotr Dabkowski is the other founder of ElevenLabs. He did an undergrad in engineering at the University of Oxford, then a Master’s in computer science at Cambridge. His fortune is £665 million.

Another multimillionaire went to both Oxford and Cambridge. Mahiben Maruthappu studied medicine at Selwyn College, Cambridge and Green Templeton College, Oxford. He started the healthcare company Cera, and now has £123 million.
University of Cambridge – 5
Herman Narula founded a technology company called Improbable Worlds Limited, that makes stimulation software for video games and the defence sector. His net worth is a huge £780 million. He studied computer science at Girton College, University of Cambridge.
Alex Kendall was doing a PhD at Trinity College, Cambridge when he started working on Wayve – a company that makes AI for cars. He has £439 million.
Amar Shah started Wayve with Alex Kendall, and now has £264 million. He did an undergrad and PhD in engineering at Cambridge.
The entrepreneur Tom Blomfield has a net worth of £166 million. He studied law at the University of Oxford.
