Beth and Teejay were actually told by production to not do MAFS final vows and it’s ruthless

The real reason they didn’t take part is much deeper than what we saw on the show

Beth and Teejay straight up decided they didn’t want to do their MAFS Australia final vows, which was a bit of a shock. Normally, no matter what position a couple is in, they’ll make their final declarations and say what they need to say.

On the show, Beth seemed to make it clear she just didn’t have it in her to do the vows. Their relationship has been shaky recently, with Teejay giving Beth mixed signals about where they stand. He then opted to leave at the most recent commitment ceremony.

Since the show, Beth has opened up and said she didn’t want to do MAFS final vows for fear Teejay would reject her. An insider has said this was where the decision for them to not take part came from, but then production stepped in and said they shouldn’t bother.

Beth told 9Entertainment: “Going through the motions of starting off really strong, having a great connection and then ending the way we did, it was horrible. It’s definitely not what I expected and to be honest I still don’t know where things went wrong.”

Teejay added: “I was struggling to differentiate if this was a really strong friendship or a relationship. I understand it’s hard to hear that the person you’ve spent seven weeks with doesn’t see a future outside the experiment. But I didn’t want to lie about how I felt and string her along.”

An insider then went on to explain the real reason the couple didn’t film their on-screen final vows. They said it was because MAFS wanted to “cut costs”. Brutal!

The source told Yahoo Lifestyle: “They both already knew it was over, and as much as Beth was ready to go home, she also would’ve loved a chance to have an empowering moment where she told Teejay just how much he’d hurt her.

“Producers didn’t think it would be worth the expense of them organising an entire ceremony for this to happen, or make sense to viewers as there would be no suspense to their final decision.”

Another source went on to say Teejay “would have loved the chance to remain on the show until the very end” as he felt he received “minimal airtime”. Oh dear.
