The most heart wrenching Pedro Pascal character deaths we’ve been forced to sit through
Why do they continuously kill such a loveable man off? I can’t cope
Pedro Pascal really is the moment. He’s not only an actor, but an icon, and the ultimate ally. So, why do producers and writers feel the need to keep killing him off when we see him onscreen?
Guaranteed, we all knew what was coming in The Last of Us, but Game of Thrones? Really? Why did they have to do that?
If you’re an avid fan like me, you’ve unfortunately seen this wonderful man die a gazillion times in a gazillion ways, but nonetheless I’ve rounded up some the most painful Pedro Pascal deaths, ending on the worst one of all.
P.S. I’m still not over any of these.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

We’re starting a little more light and breezy, throwing it back to the 90s.
One of Pedro’s first roles was a small part in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Playing a seemingly sweet college student, Eddie, who is turned into a vampire. He befriends Buffy, who unfortunately has to kill dear old Pedro because you know, she is the vampire slayer.
Drive-Away Dolls

This one doesn’t pain me too much as it happens so soon into the film that I haven’t had chance to form an attachment to the character but let’s be frank, it’s pretty brutal.
Pedro plays Santos in Ethan Coen’s campy crime comedy, Drive-Away Dolls. We meet Santos in a bar, in 1999, who after leaving said bar is swiftly decapitated with a hacksaw after having his eyes gouged. Delightful.

This was actually one of my first experiences with Pedro onscreen, bar Buffy, of course, so seeing this death for the first time didn’t exactly rip my heart out. However, I’m putting this here for long time Pedro stans, I see you.
In the second instalment of the Kingsman series, Pedro plays Whiskey, or Jack Daniels, as per his full name. Whiskey is an American spy who works alongside Channing Tatum’s Tequila, and compared to their British counterparts, are kind of annoying.
However, Whiskey doesn’t have the finest ending in this movie, as he’s shot in the head before being revived, then shoved head first into a meat grinder. Nice.
Gladiator 2

via Paramount Pictures
Pedro plays General Marcus Acacius, who’s forced into the colosseum as a punishment for trying to overthrow the emperor. Acacius and Paul Mescal’s Lucius are thrust into the arena, but after they both refuse to kill each other, Acacius is killed by a shower of arrows.
Game of Thrones

via NOW TV
I thought this would be the most painful death that I’d ever see, and maybe for some of you, this might be.
Pedro’s character, Oberyn Martell, was a bright light in the world of darkness that was King’s Landing. Unfortunately, if you’re a good guy, you don’t tend to have a great end in Game of Thrones.
Oberyn, a prince from Dorne, volunteers to fight on Tyrion Lannister’s behalf in a trial by combat. He is faced with battling The Mountain, who brutally kills him by gouging his eyes out and then smashing his head in.
Gross, and sad.
The Last of Us

via NOW TV
We knew it was coming but didn’t we all wish it wouldn’t actually happen?
Of all the Pedro Pascal deaths, this is probably one of the most painful, if not the most painful TV deaths I have ever experienced.
For those who don’t know, Pedro plays Joel, who is tasked with transporting Ellie, a young girl, across the zombie-ridden country as part of a mission to save the world. They form a close father-daughter bond, giving each other the love they craved so dearly.
However, Joel is killed by Abby, whose father in the last season was killed by Joel. In season one, Abby’s father wanted to murder Ellie, and in turn met his end, but this act sadly came with awful consequences. That consequence being Joel’s death and impalement.
Abby beats Joel to death in front of a horrified Ellie, and thereby leaves his almost-daughter to fend for herself.
This hands down was the hardest of the Pedro Pascal deaths to watch, and the one with the most painful consequences, let’s just hope he fairs better in Fantastic Four.
