Eliot explains what really went down in MAFS bed swap scandal – this time he’s telling the truth

Right now, MAFS Australia 2025 is in the middle of SO much drama. In the centre of lots of the chaos is groom Eliot Donovan – who’s found himself in a bed swap scandal following MAFS partner swaps.

During feedback week, the participants had to swap partners and live with someone new. Eliot was paired with Rhi. Rhi is of course in a picture-perfect relationship with Jeff, so it was quite shocking to hear rumours that Eliot and Rhi secretly shared a bed whilst together.

According to Daily Mail Australia, producers swiftly found out about the drama because *allegedly* Rhi’s own partner Jeff ratted them out! Jeff had been paired with Jacqui, who he agreed to sleep separately from. But then he reportedly moaned of a bad back, so “suggested they share the bed instead.”

Jeff’s justification for the move was allegedly that his wife had done the same. Daily Mail Australia reported Rhi and Eliot had apparently told producers they wouldn’t be sharing a bed, but ended up doing so anyway.

On top of this, Eliot apparently didn’t tell his wife Veronica a thing. She was pretty shocked when she found out. “I’m unsure how it will all play out on TV, but Eliot flat-out lied to Veronica [about sharing a bed with Rhi],” a source claimed. “He assured her he had slept alone. She has no idea what actually happened.”

Now, Eliot has spoken out about the whole drama. He called the rumours “malicious” and said everything between him and Rhi was completely “above board”. He said people spreading the rumour were only doing so to hurt people.

A source added: “The only people they lied to really was production. The only reason Eliot lied was because he didn’t want to throw Rhi under the bus.”
