Video shows the moment London student is arrested for murdering woman on Bournemouth beach

Nasen Saadi has been sentenced to serve a minimum of 39 years in prison

A video released by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) shows the moment a London student is arrested for murdering a woman on Bournemouth beach.

Nasen Saadi was sentenced on Friday 28th March for the murder of Amie Gray and the attempted murder of Leanne Miles.

He will serve at least 39 years in jail.

Saadi, 20, was a criminology student at the time of the killing and had previously asked his lecturers about getting away with murder, saying to one of them to “go back to the point where you talked about murder and self-defence”.

During his trial, the prosecution outlined how he had planned his attack, buying latex gloves, a balaclava, wet wipes and nail clippers in an attempt to avoid being traced.

He also purchased six knives including a machete and a hunting knife, and enquired about how police investigate murders prior to carrying out his assault.

However, the murder weapon has never been found.

Since his conviction, the CPS has released footage of the moment armed police officers arrested Saadi.

In the footage, officers can be heard shouting for the now-convicted murderer to come down the stairs.

Wearing a black t-shirt and joggers, Saadi appears with his hands on his head, going slowly towards police as they shout: “Hands on your head, walk down the stairs slowly. Keep walking.”

The video, shot from an officer’s body camera, shows targets on Saadi’s body from the guns, as he approached the armed unit.

Officers then ask him to walk backwards, reiterating to put his hands on his head, adding: “Walk backwards towards my voice.”

They then usher him out, and move him against a wall, telling him to get down on his knees before officially arresting him.

In the footage, Saadi does not resist arrest and complies with the officers’ instructions.

During this video, viewers don’t hear what he is being arrested for, however, he has now been convicted of one count and murder and another of attempted murder.

Saadi did not target a specific victim but instead attacked the women who he saw on the beach last May. He stabbed them a total of 30 times.

Mrs Justice Cutts sentencing him said he had a “grievance” with women, and showed “no remorse” for his actions.

He will be at least 59 years old by the time he is eligible for parole.
