London student sentenced to life for murdering woman on Bournemouth beach
Amie Gray was said to have ‘saved’ her friend’s life when Nasen Saadi came at them both with a knife
A London student has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering a woman on Bournemouth beach.
Nasen Saadi, 20, a former criminology student from Croydon, killed Amie Gray, 34, after he stabbed her 10 times.
He further injured her friend, Leanne Miles, who sustained 20 stab wounds.
The attack was said to have been premeditated, with Saadi having asked his lecturers about how to get away with murder, with him saying to one of them to “go back to the point where you talked about murder and self-defence”.
Before the attack on 24th May last year, Saadi had bought latex gloves, a balaclava, wet wipes and nail clippers in an attempt to avoid being traced.

He also purchased six knives including a machete and a hunting knife, and enquired about how police investigate murders prior to carrying out his assault on Bournemouth beach.
However, the murder weapon has never been found.
According to the prosecution, Saadi had “grievance” with women and became obsessed with the notoriety of famous killers.
“He seems to have wanted to know what it would be like to take life,” prosecutor Sarah Jones KC suggested.

The BBC reported that Sian Gray, Amie’s wife paid tribute to her, saying she was the “most loving wife and mother”.
In a victim statement, Amie’s mother Sharon Macklin said: “Since Amie was taken from us it is like the lights have been dimmed and we cannot get the power to go back up.”

She added that on the day of her daughter’s funeral there had been a “sea of blue” which was Amie’s favourite colour.
“It was amazing to see how many hearts Amie had touched in her life.
“She had recently been made a head coach at Dorset Futsal, which she loved and she received an award for this which made her so proud.
“She had just started to plan a new work venture and on the day of her murder had secured her first customers, which made her so excited.
“This has made it so much harder for us to deal with as a family, we have all struggled to come to terms with her death and most of all the horrendous way she died.”
Leanne also spoke about her friend, saying she “saved” her life, as Saadi targeted the 38-year-old first before Amie shouted “get away” leading the killer to turn his attack on her.
Mitigating, Charles Sherrard KC quoted his client, who said: “I never got noticed when I did a good thing, people have only noticed me when I have done a bad thing.”
Mr Sherrard added: “And that perhaps is the nearest one can get to an explanation.”

Presiding over the sentencing, Mrs Justice Cutts told the 20-year-old that whilst he chose his victims at random, she was “satisfied that you had long planned and prepared to kill”.
“Your preparations included finding the right location to murder someone and to avoid detection.
“You had also clearly decided the beach was the place to locate your victim.”
Speaking about the evidence found on Saadi’s computer, she continued by saying: “You were clearly thinking of how to approach and run from your victim.
“You chose Amie Gray and Leanne Miles because you had a grievance of society as a whole, and of women.
“No doubt you thought you had committed the perfect crime.”
Mrs Justice Cutts further added that Saadi had admitted his guilty a psychologist before his sentencing, saying he had shown a “complete lack of remorse” by forcing the victims of his crime to endure a trial.
She concluded by saying that Saadi had “sought notoriety you had hoped a trial would give you”.
Saadi was sentenced to a minimum of 39 years in prison.
