Perez Hilton’s family reveal he suffered ‘several broken bones’ during livestream incident

Perez Hilton’s family have shared a new update on the celebrity blogger’s condition, revealing he suffered several broken bones during the incident that unfolded on a livestream earlier this month.

Tom, who is married to Hilton’s sister Barbara Lavandeira, said the 48-year-old fell multiple times during the night of the August 4 incident at his home in Miami.

“There were some broken bones. There were some other things unrelated that they discovered stemming all this way back to his sepsis,” Tom said.

In an interview for The Perez Hilton Podcast, which is cohosted by Chris Booker, Tom explained that Hilton had been receiving treatment for physical injuries connected to the incident until around 48 hours before the interview was recorded.

According to Tom, Hilton suffered numerous cuts and several broken bones after “a couple of falls” during the episode. He has remained in hospital ever since.

“Of course, while he’s been treated for his physical ailments, psychiatrists come in and check in and see how he’s doing, make sure he’s not looking to harm himself, that kind of thing. But the actual healing or digging into what caused this mental break, as I called it, hasn’t been discovered completely.”

Tom said Hilton is currently “lucid” and that he has been able to speak with him, alongside Hilton’s mother and sister.

When asked whether Hilton remembered the incident or understood what had happened, Tom said: “I didn’t dig into that too much when I spoke to him. I didn’t want to trigger any anxiety for him. I wanted him to really focus on his physical ailments … actual recovery of the lacerations and the bones.”

“I don’t know how much he really does recall or doesn’t recall,” he added.

Tom also revealed that Hilton’s three children have not been able to visit him while he has been in hospital, and that the blogger has not had access to electronic devices during his stay.

Hilton is dad to Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight. Earlier this month, his mother, Teresita Lavandeira, was granted temporary custody of the children.
