Guys, Squid Game moved the season three release date and now it’s coming NEXT WEEK!
This is not a drill
Netflix surprised everyone when it announced that Squid Game season three was coming just six months after season two, and now they’ve hit us with an even bigger bombshell.
The June 27th release date has been brought forward, and the final part is now coming to Netflix next week. Yes, NEXT WEEK!
They revealed the shocking news on X, writing: “Surprise! Squid Game season three is coming to Netflix on Friday, April 11th.”
“We’re bringing you the final installment more than two months early because we just can’t wait any longer!” the post continued.
A source from Netflix told The Tab: “Squid Game season three’s official release date has always been April 11th, but we wanted that to be a surprise.”
“Squid Game is unpredictable and the players never know what’s coming next, so we wanted viewers to get a sense of that too.”
The show usually does loads of advertising before a new season, with Squid Game guards and the creepy doll appearing in major cities weeks before the release date.
However, they decided to strip all of that back this time and drop season three as close to season two as soon as possible, because they are technically part of the same season.

“I originally envisioned it as a single series, so both seasons two and three as a single series when I was writing it,” director Hwang Dong-hyuk told Cinemablend.

“But then, as I wrote the story along, it became to be too many episodes and too long of a story because you see Gi-hun’s journey where he returns to the game, but also he goes through a revolt, and that is actually the climax of that storyline, where he tries to create an uprising, but then that all goes to failure.”
“And I also saw that aspect of it as yet another game as well, and so I thought that we would divide it into two seasons to have that – Gi-hun’s revolt going into a failure, him ending up losing his best friend, that itself being yet another important climatic event in the first half of the season, so into season two.”
Season two followed Gi-hun as he gave up on going to America and returned to the Squid Games four years after winning, intent on taking down its evil creator.
It ended on a massive cliffhanger after the players launched a rebellion, which ended with the Front Man shockingly killing Jung-bae.
In the final season, the players will return to the evil competition and be forced to play three more gruesome games, and it’s set to be more shocking than ever.
Um, did you check the date? Happy April Fool’s Day 2025!
