Where to watch the real 60 Minutes Belle Gibson interview that inspired Apple Cider Vinegar
The Netflix show recreated this very famous news documentary with Belle Gibson
The new Netflix show Apple Cider Vinegar has got everyone interested in Belle Gibson again. She’s a real wellness influencer who claimed holistic treatments (such as apple cider vinegar) cured her brain cancer. Except it turned out she never had cancer in the first place. The show Apple Cider Vinegar recreates a real interview with Belle Gibson and 60 Minutes Australia. You can still watch it. Honestly, it’s absolutely gripping stuff.
In the documentary, the Australian journalist Tara Brown confronts Belle Gibson about her scam. Belle literally says, “I struggle with the truth”. There’s footage of Belle visiting health stores in Melbourne, and photos from her childhood. Belle Gibson eventually admits she’s three years younger than she’d previously claimed, and apologises to people who were misled by her false story. Belle talks about the time when she faked a seizure at her son’s fourth birthday party.

The documentary also includes an interview with Belle Gibson’s brother Nick. He speaks about how Belle kept calling him a “r*tard” when they were children, and how it led him to struggle with self-esteem his whole life. Belle used to tell reporters her brother was autistic, but Nick has never actually been diagnosed with autism.
Now the Netflix show Apple Cider Vinegar has got everyone talking about Belle Gibson again, 60 Minutes Australia has also published lots of really interesting behind-the-scenes clips about how the documentary was filmed.
