Whether it’s fine dining or solo crying, here’s what your Valentine’s Day plans say about you
I’m definitely not jealous of all the happy couples out there…
Whether you celebrate or retaliate, Valentine’s Day is almost upon us. It’s that time of year where couples spend stupid amounts of money on chocolates, roses and teddy bears to show their two week talking stage that they are serious about them. It’s always such a romantic time of year, or a heartbreaking time of year.
Wherever you stand on the Valentine’s spectrum, there’s always an excuse to show your life for your partner, your friends or your family. So, whether you’re dressed to the nines to impress your new boyfriend on a date or just staying and re-watching Bridget Jones, here’s what your Valentine’s Day plans say about you.
Going out for dinner
This is a classic Valentine’s Day activity. Going out for dinner. You’re probably someone who is a little high maintenance and likes to do everything the “proper” way. You’re most likely going to whack on a blazer, a slick back bun and have your partner take some low exposure, “candid” pictures of you sipping your red wine.
You’re most likely someone who will continue to soft launch your two year long relationship and will act very mysterious about Valentine’s Day as a whole. You keep it lowkey and we love that for you.
Baking or cooking a meal
If your plans this Valentine’s Day are to bake or cook a meal with your significant other, then you’re a little bit childish about your relationship. You’re most likely going to have matching pyjamas, matching outfits, matching key rings and be all matchy matchy.
Most Read
Not to be a huge hater, but you’re probably a couple who are very on and off again or have only been together for two weeks. You’re most likely going to complain about your partner to your friends about how they overcooked the steak. Have fun!
Having a night in
You’re either someone who is in a long term relationship and can’t be bothered to go out. Or, you’re single and very anti-Valentine’s towards the holiday. If you’re the latter, then you are spending the day indoors, blinds shut and self-pitying on the sofa.
You’re going to spend the day hate scrolling all the Valentine’s couple posts, you’re going to be scolding at any Valentine’s celebrations, and you will be throwing popcorn at the TV as you hate watch corny romcom films. Maybe it’s for the best that you stay inside. You need to unwind, relax and let off some steam.
Going for cocktails and drinks
If your Valentine’s Day plans plans consist of going out for cocktails and drinks, you’re someone who doesn’t take the holiday seriously. All you want to do is to have fun, let loose and drunkenly confess to your partner how much you love them.
Likewise, if you’re single, you’re someone who wants to have fun, let loose and drunkenly tell your friends how much you love them. Either way, going out for cocktails and drinks is always a good choice.
Going on a trip
Going on a trip means you’re someone who is adventurous and wants to do something different rather than having a sit down dinner. You want to beat the status quo. If you’re going away this weekend, you and your partner have probably chosen to do this rather than spend money on chocolates, roses and plushies.
Personally, I would prefer this option too. Whether you’re going on a log cabin trip or even having a mini city break, getting away from the chaos that Valentine’s can bring is always a great way to show your love for your partner. Hopefully it will all go smooth sailing.
Going clubbing
Yeah, you are definitely single. As Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year, it’s the perfect excuse to go out and get absolutely blackout. Going clubbing as a singleton with your friends is always a great choice to avoid all the corny romance that’s going on around you. Why not just go out? You can be feral, be silly, have fun and even make out with a stranger (maybe they can be your Valentine?).
