“I was getting ready to go to bed, laying down, when I hear the bang bang, a very unusual sound, something you don’t hear on a daily basis,” the 38-year-old told NBC.
“It’s more like on a war zone, something you hear on the action movies. So that caught my attention. I looked out the window and all I could see in that moment was just smoke.”
In another video with CNN, he added: “Somewhere around 8:50pm I hear two bombs. It’s not like any bombs I’ve heard before. Something I’ve never heard before in my life.”
“As you can see, I have a great view of the Reagan Airport and I have a great view of the Air Force base,” the eyewitness continued while pointing out the window of his apartment.
“They were like seconds apart and immediately I looked out the window and there was some smoke at the south side of Regan Airport by the marina, Washington Sailing Marina.”

Abadi went on social media to try and find out what was going on, but he couldn’t find anything, so he shared a video on X and was one of the first people to do so.
He watched “seven to eight” firefighter boats arrive to recover people from the crash. However, he said it’s a “very challenging mission” because the river is frozen and there are strong currents.
