Huge Squid Game season one finale fail proves Gi-hun should have recognised the Front Man
The evidence is unquestionable
Squid Game 2 brought us one of the biggest plot twists of all time: The Front Man entering the games as Player 001. If you couldn’t contain your shock, join the club. It was so frustrating watching Gi-hun befriend him while having no idea that he was the one running the entire operation, but what else does Squid Game do other than massively stress its viewers out? However, some eagle-eyed viewers have noticed a plot hole with the Front Man’s involvement in the games. This huge Squid Game fail in the season one finale proves Gi-hun should have recognised the Front Man when he first appeared in the games.
Gi-hun already met the Front Man in the Squid Game season one finale
For all those who remember the events of the Squid Game season one finale three years ago, Gi-hun and the Front Man finally came face to face (kind of). After Sang-woo ended his life and Gi-hun became the winner of the games, the two met in the back of a car. The Front Man told Gi-hun all about why the games happen, but he failed to put on his mask that distorted his voice. Sure, Gi-hun was blindfolded and couldn’t see his face, but it meant that he would have heard his real voice during their ominous conversation.
By this logic, Gi-hun should have instantly recognised the voice of Player 001 and matched it with the Front Man, especially when finding him is all he’s been obsessing over for the last three years. Yes, he could have been disoriented, but after everything he’d been through, this was a conversation he’d be unlikely to forget.
