Here are the 15 best gigs and concerts to look out for in Cardiff in 2025

From Lana Del Rey to Stereophonics, 2025 is looking good

With Cardiff being a city of music, venues, and partying, it’s no surprise that the 2025 music scene looks rather exciting.

The Welsh capital claims to have over 40 music venues, from the small underground clubs to the golden ticket at Principality. Whatever your music taste is, the lineup for 2025 is sure to have something you’ll enjoy.

Without further ado here is a curated list of 15 different concerts to watch out for in the new year:

1. Dean Lewis  – 09/02

As a part of his Epilogue World Tour, the Australian artist is heading to Cardiff. Dean Lewis is one of the first big performers of the new year with his performance in early February at Utilita Arena.

This is his second big appearance in the capital, performing in March of 2024 supporting James Arthur in the same venue.

2. Snow Patrol – 18/02

Less than two weeks later, Snow Patrol take over the Utilita Arena on their global tour. Featuring dates across the UK, Ireland, EU and North America, the indie rock band are back in Wales for the first time since 2019.

After running from a string of music festivals across the UK during summer of 2024, they have decided to “just say yes” to another brilliant performance (no pun intended).

3. Gracie Abrams – 08/03

The online sensation that is Gracie Abrams has decided to follow in Snow Patrol’s footsteps and bring a performance to the Utilita Arena.

Abrams has seen a huge growth in her following over the past year – largely attributed to her opening for the Eras tour. Being only 25, she has a lifetime of talent and is certainly one to watch out for.

4. Sugababes – 14/04

Despite their biggest hit coming out almost two decades ago, the Sugababes are still going strong. They have recently headlined a number of festivals across the UK and are now bringing their energy over to Wales.

Come April, be sure to get your glitter and sparkles out as this is not a performance you will want to miss.

5. Olly Murs – 12/05, 13/05

Hide your wives, Olly Murs is back. The classic pop star that we all secretly love has a two-date show in the Utilita Arena coming up. If you are looking for a night of throwbacks and nostalgia, this is the place to be.

6. Scissor Sisters – 20/05

A name you may not know, but songs that definitely will have gotten you up on the dancefloor. Describing themselves as “genre and gender defying”, the Scissor Sisters are truly a disco force to be reckoned with.

Even if you “don’t feel like dancing”, this band will certainly get your feet tapping and hips shaking in the Utilita Arena. The American 2000s group are on tour celebrating 20 years since their first debut album, and a celebration it will be.

7. The Lumineers – 22/05

After their massively popular set at Cardiff Castle last year, the Lumineers are back. Upon their return, the folk band are being supported by ‘Scared to start’ singer Michael Marcagi.

Their UK/EU tour begins in April and Cardiff is one of their last spots. This time they are bringing their immaculate energy to Utilita Arena – one of the last big performances there until 2026.

8. Sophie Ellis-Bextor – 01/06

The party-anthem star is back in Cardiff for another round of performances.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor performed at Cardiff Pride in 2023, only a few months before the release of Saltburn, where her hit Murder on the Dancefloor went viral. Now, with a much bigger fanbase, she is returning to Wales Millennium Centre for what should be a fantastic night of dancing and singing.

9. Depot Live –  13/06 – 22/08

Depot Live is returning for its seventh year at Cardiff Castle. Throughout the summer it puts on a wide variety of performances all held at the Castle.

This year they are joined by the likes of Fontaines D.C., Jess Glynne, Sting and The Script. With such a wide range of music catering for the rockers and the ravers, its certainly worth keeping an eye on the ever-updating lineup.

10. Lana Del Rey – 23/06

In the first string of some huge Principality Stadium performances is Lana Del Rey. There certainly won’t be any “summertime sadness” when the indie pop star puts on the first performance of her show. She has recently been ranked 41st artist on Spotify and has over 57 million listeners per month, so it is sure to be a sold out show.

11. Blackweir Live – dates TBA

After the repeated success of Depot Live at the Castle, they have announced a new series of summer performances at Blackweir Live. The exact dates are yet to be confirmed along with most of the artists, but Kings of Leon have been confirmed for 29/06.

If Blackweir Live is anything like Live at the Castle, the rest of the lineup will be impressive and tickets will sell out fast.

12. Oasis – 04/07, 05 /07

By far the most anticipated and hyped up music event of the year – the reunion of the Gallagher brothers.

With two sold out dates, reasonably priced tickets are almost impossible to get a hold of, but it’s always worth keeping an eye on the resale as it’s likely not an event that will come around again.

13. Stereophonics – 11/07, 12/07 Principality Stadium

As a final stop along their Stadium Anthems tour, Stereophonics are returning back to their home country for two shows.

Supported by British band Blossoms, the rock band are taking Principality by storm. Expect two nights of loud, spirited music that will leave your head bopping for days.

14 – Catfish and the Bottlemen – 01/08

After sold-out shows across the world, Catfish and the Bottlemen are returning to Cardiff for their biggest show yet. It’s a two-date tour with Cardiff being the first, so expect big things.

Despite the band only being reunited for a year, they have already achieved a number of big headlines and shows, and likely have more to come.

15. OneRepublic – 21/09

As the summer of music comes to an end, OneRepublic make one of the biggest final appearances at Utilita Arena.

Cardiff is one of the first stops on the pop group’s Escape to Europe tour, so expect high-energy and new ideas. With Ella Henderson to support you surely “don’t wanna wait” for this one.
