Filed over text and going missing: The messiest divorces had by the women of Selling Sunset

We’re very used to the personal drama that comes with the real estate agents on Selling Sunset, but in recent seasons, the women have been very publicly sharing parts of their relationships, and now divorces.

Chelsea recently filed from her businessman partner former husband, and in the past Amanza has opened up about struggling when her ex went off radar, and I’ll never forget watching in real time on the show as Chrishell got a TEXT from Justin Hartley to say their marriage was over.

Here’s a rundown of all the Selling Sunset agents who have found themselves at the centre of messy divorces, and what happened.

Amanza Smith, 2012

Amanza’s ex is Ralph Brown, who she married in 2010. Ralph Brown used to play as a cornerback in the NFL – after being drafted into the New York Giants in 2010. During season two of Selling Sunset, Amanza said Ralph, father of daughter Noah and son Braker, had gone “missing” and wasn’t paying child support.

They had previously ended their marriage in 2012, after two years. “My ex-husband and I have been divorced since my kids were one and two,” Amanza explained on Selling Sunset. “So, for the past seven years, they have spent a week with daddy and a week with mommy. And daddy’s a great dad, he’s very present, but over the past couple of months stuff has really hit the fan and he’s basically just off the grid. And we don’t really know what’s going on. I just don’t have answers for them.”

Amanza has now said she is a single mother, and hasn’t heard from her ex husband since 2019.

Justin Fartley, wait I mean Hartley, and Chrishell Stause filed for divorce in November of 2019, after marrying in October 2017. Chrishell was filming for Selling Sunset when she found out, and the scenes played out on the show.

She said she found out the news by text, “and 45 minutes later the world knew.” Chrishell then added she spoke to Justin straight after hearing about it all, because she thought it must have been a joke. Speaking on Selling Sunset at the time, she said: “I immediately just grabbed a few things and I just got out of there as fast as I could. I don’t think I really knew where I was going or what I was going to do, but I just had to leave.”

Justin and Chrishell had tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Malibu’s Calamigos Ranch in October 2017, exactly four years to the day that they met. Justin cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Bre Tiesi, 2019

Bre Tiesi first started dating former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel in 2016. The couple got engaged in March 2017, after less than a year of dating. Exactly a year after getting engaged, Bre and Johnny tied the knot, but then a year later, there were rumours Johnny had been cheating on Bre, and she posted a number of Instagram statements which fuelled this.

Following the cheating rumours, Johnny confirmed the couple had split. Bre wiped all evidence of Johnny from her social media, and their divorce was finalised in November 2021.

On Instagram, Bre made it clear that despite everything, there was no bad blood. She thanked her friends in a post for attending her divorce party (iconic) and added: “No shade to J, wish you nothing but the best, love ya.”

Chelsea Lazkani, 2024

One of the more recent in the divorces had by the cast of Selling Sunset involved Chelsea, who joined the show in season five. At first, it was reported Chelsea had simply cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason she was ending her nearly seven year marriage with husband Jeff Lazkani, but then things got messy.

It was later reported she had called quits on the marriage with the father of their two young children because she believed Jeff had been cheating on her for a number of months. “Chelsea believes Jeff was unfaithful in their marriage and that is why she filed for divorce,” a source claimed to US Weekly. “The divorce has been looming for weeks now and she decided to abruptly file. She is completely devastated right now and is especially upset for her the sake of their children.”

The insider claimed the cheating “had been going on for months” and added: “She had suspected the cheating for a while and wanted to catch him in the act before filing. She finally had enough and decided to file this week, but it was a long time coming. She is still in the house with their kids. She wants him to stay out of the house, and they are not on speaking terms.”

Chelsea had been married to businessman Jeff Lazkani since 2017, after they met on Tinder when Chelsea moved to America. Her hearing about cheating allegations was part of Selling Sunset season eight.

Christine Quinn, 2024

Around the same time news emerged that Chelsea was getting a divorce, it was also reported her Selling Sunset bestie Christine Quinn was divorcing her mega rich husband. The news came just weeks after there was a reported domestic incident at their house, and Christian was said to have been arrested twice for violating temporary restraining orders.

It was Christian who TMZ said filed for the divorce, and in documents obtained by the publication it has been claimed he cited irreconcilable differences. PEOPLE Magazine reported Christian is asking a judge terminate the court’s ability to award support to Christine, as well as separate their property and assets. Christian also filed a restraining order against Christine, and is said to be requesting legal custody of their only child, Christian George.

The couple married in December 2019 and welcomed a child together, their son – also called Christian – who was born in May 2021.
