Matty Healy has been all over Twitter and TikTok as The 1975 embark on their North American leg of their world tour. Whether it’s using an oxygen mask or eating raw meat on stage, the tour will definitely be one to remember. But besides touring, Matty Healy has quite the exciting life and it makes sense considering he is the last great frontman. His words! He is really good friends with Paul Mescal and Phoebe Bridgers

Matty Healy and the newly engaged Paul Mescal and Phoebe Bridgers all seem to be the best of friends. There are loads of photos of Paul and Matty at Phoebe’s shows while she has been on tour as well as taking some of the greatest photos of Paul Mescal on film. We as a nation have got to thank Matty Healy for what he has done for us Normal People girlies.

Matty Healy also inadvertently announced Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal were engaged, a whole month before it was reported as official. In October 2022, Matty wrote in a tweet: “I want to be Phoebe Bridgers. Imagine being such a lesbian icon that you just get engaged to the sexiest straight man on earth. Truly a based god.”

Phoebe also featured in The 1975’s music video for I’m In Love With You. It’s all very iconic if you ask me.

His house featured in the background of Netflix’s Top Boy

Netflix’s Top Boy is filmed in and around East London, with the main action taking place in the Isle of Dogs. In an unlikely cameo, Matty Healy’s home can be seen in the second episode of the show. In a tweet, Healy wrote: “Wow Top Boy is brilliant. Amazingly written. Shout out to my house in ep two.”

He’s also good friends with English artist Grayson Perry

Matty also seems to be friends with people outside of the music industry as he shared a photo with Grayson Perry, and English contemporary artist. Grayson is known for his tapestries and ceramic vases.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, Matty isolated in a quaint Norfolk cottage with its own studio

Matty spent time away from the spotlight during 2020 and lived in Norfolk during lockdown and spent time to make music. Speaking with The Sunday Times, he revealed he was isolating at a cottage in Norfolk with his now ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs and song-writing partner George Daniel. In an interview with Capital FM, Matty gave a tour of his home studio in Norfolk.

In case you didn’t know, Matty is the son of Denise Welch and Tim Healy

A fact that always surprises people, mainly non 1975 fans, is that Matty Healy is the son of TV personality Denise Welch and actor Tim Healy. Denise currently lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire with her husband Lincoln Townley. Her home is reportedly worth £1 million and it is the ultimate vibe which you can get a glimpse of on her Instagram page.

He is on A LOT of magazine covers

Understandably when you release an album, there are likely to be a ton of interviews. In the lead up to the much anticipated Being Funny In A Foreign Language, Matty Healy did a lot of interviews and was the front page of a lot of magazines.
