These are the celebrities who have the largest percentage of fake Instagram followers

Even with influencers on the rise, it is still traditional celebrities who dominate Instagram with the most amount of followers. Most of them post regularly, if not daily, and have a legion of loyal followers, reaching hundreds of thousands of likes and comments on each post. But did you know that celebrities actually have millions of fake Instagram followers?

By using Modash which analyses Instagram accounts’ follower rates, PostBeyond found Kourtney Kardashian has the most with over 53.5 million million fake followers.  Rounding out the bottom of the top 14 with only 24 per cent fake followers is Cristiano Ronaldo, who also has the most Instagram followers ever.

So, with over a billion fake followers between them, here are the celebrities with the largest amount of fake followers on Instagram, ranked from lowest to highest per cent:

Cristiano Ronaldo – 24 per cent

Total amount of followers: 463 million

Amount of fake followers: 111.3 million

Cristiano Ronaldo has the most amount of Instagram followers ever. I’m sure he’s a lovely guy but I am confused about that, just seems a bit rogue to me that so many people want to follow him. But despite having the highest amount of followers, Cristiano ranks lowest on this list with only 24 per cent fake followers.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – 24.8 per cent

Total amount of followers: 326 million

Amount of fake followers: 80.9 million

Coming in next is another rogue one with Dwayne Johnson, the pro-boxer turned actor known for his fun-for-all-the-family movies has 24.8 per cent of his followers who are fake.

Beyonce – 25.5 per cent

Total amount of followers: 266 million

Amount of fake followers: 67.3 million

Even the queen bee herself has fake followers, 67.3 million to be precise. That is 25.5 per cent of her total follower count which is currently 266 million.

Kylie Jenner – 25.7 per cent

Total amount of followers: 355 million

Amount of fake followers: 91.1 million

It’s no surprise that all the Kardashian-Jenner sisters make it onto this list. With that many Instagram followers, you’re bound to have some fake ones and Kylie has over 90 million.

Kendall Jenner – 26.1 per cent

Total amount of followers: 247 million

Amount of fake followers: 64.3 million

Coming in only marginally higher than her sister, Victoria’s Secret model Kendall Jenner has 64.3 million fake followers, which is 26.1 per cent of her 247 million total followers.

Justin Bieber – 26.5 per cent

Total amount of followers: 246 million

Amount of fake followers: 65.2 million

Justin Bieber, who recently opened up to his 246 million strong following that he was struggling with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, has 26.5 per cent fake followers.

Selena Gomez – 26.8 per cent

Total amount of followers: 333 million

Amount of fake followers: 89.2 million

Ex-Disney star Selena Gomez ranks just higher than her former flame Justin with 26.8 per cent of her 333 million following being fake.

Kim Kardashian – 26.9 per cent

Total amount of followers: 322 million

Amount of fake followers: 86.6 million

Kim Kardashian is basically the queen of Instagram at this point with all her posts delivering true Kardashian realness. Out of her mega 322 million following, 26.9 per cent is fake.

Ariana Grande – 27 per cent

Total amount of followers: 320 million

Amount of fake followers: 86.4 million

A second former Disney child star makes it on this list with Ariana Grande. The God is a Woman singer has 27 per cent fake followers.

Taylor Swift – 27.3 per cent

Total amount of followers: 217 million

Amount of fake followers: 59.3 million

Taylor Swift recently came under fire for her alleged private jet use. She currently has 59.3 million fake followers which is 27.3 per cent of her total 217 million followers.

Jennifer Lopez – 27.8 per cent

Total amount of followers: 217 million

Amount of fake followers: 60.3 million

Little Miss Jenny from the block currently has the same amount of followers as Taylor Swift with 217 million followers but she has a higher percentage of fake followers at 27.8 per cent. That is 60.3 million fake accounts.

Nicki Minaj – 28.1 per cent

Total amount of followers: 197 million

Amount of fake followers: 55.4 million

Out of Nicki Minaj’s 197 million strong Instagram following, 28.1 per cent are fake. That’s over 55.4 million of fake accounts.

Khloe Kardashian – 28.1 per cent

Total amount of followers: 259 million

Amount of fake followers: 72.7 million

It was announced on Friday that Khloe Kardashian had welcomed her second child, a son born via a surrogate. She is yet to share the news with her 259 million Instagram following, 28.1 per cent of which is fake.

Kourtney Kardashian – 28.5 per cent

Total amount of followers: 188 million

Amount of fake followers: 53.5 million

Kourtney Kardashian is the most recent of the Kardashian family to get loved up, marrying Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. Kourtney has the least amount of the followers out of all her sisters but has the highest percentage of fake followers out of everyone on this list at 28.5 per cent.
