Peaky Blinders isn’t over just yet, so here’s what’s coming next after The Immortal Man
I actually can’t wait
Just when it felt like Peaky Blinders had reached its final chapter, the story is already gearing up for a whole new era.

The new film The Immortal Man brings Tommy Shelby’s journey to a close, with Cillian Murphy in his role as the iconic gang leader. The story follows Tommy as he tries to outrun the weight of his past and make peace with the choices that defined him. But while the film wraps up one chapter, it’s far from the end of the Shelby legacy.
In fact, it’s more like a reset.
A sequel series has already been confirmed, with two seasons planned and a clear shift in focus towards a younger generation, including Duke Shelby, who steps into power after Tommy’s story reaches its conclusion.
Speaking about what’s next, creator Steven Knight hinted that Duke will play a key role moving forward, describing the future of the show as a continuation of the Shelby family story. Details around returning characters are still under wraps, but it’s clear the franchise isn’t letting go of its roots anytime soon.

The new series will move the timeline forward into the 1950s, picking up in a post-war Birmingham still rebuilding after the devastation of World War II. This time, the stakes are different. Instead of street-level power grabs, the battle centres around control of the city’s massive reconstruction, a prize that brings both opportunity and violence.
Knight has teased a bigger, more ambitious scale for the next chapter, describing a city rising from destruction, where the Shelby name remains firmly embedded in the chaos. The tone promises to stay just as gritty, but with a new backdrop and a fresh set of players shaping the future.
As Knight put it to Netflix’s Tudum: “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story… The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride.”
Behind the scenes, the original creative force remains intact, with Knight returning as writer and executive producer alongside Murphy, suggesting the DNA of the show won’t be lost, even as it evolves.
The Peaky Blinders are still very much in business, just with new faces calling the shots.
