The Love Island USA season seven cast are speaking out against racism, after Huda Mustafa and boyfriend Louis Russell appeared to laugh after a caller said a racial slur on a stream. Huda has since apologised in a statement, amid a series of clapbacks from her co-stars.

Huda openly apologised to Olandria for her “immediate reaction” after a caller sounded as though they used a racial slur. Huda and Louis appeared to laugh, with Huda saying, “Turn it off, I think they said a bad word,” and as a result, they’ve received major backlash.
Olandria spoke out against ‘shocking’ clip

Olandria is encouraging anyone who took part in Huda and Louis’ stream to “demonstrate a genuine commitment to anti-racism by donating to organisations,” and is making a person donation herself. She wrote, “That kind of language is never acceptable.”
Chelley had her say on the matter

Chelley made it clear that she no longer speaks to Huda by calling her a “former cast mate”. She wrote: “As a Black woman, it’s painful to watch moments like this play out so casually because it shows how normalised disrespect and ignorance can become.”
Huda’s friend Iris hasn’t stayed silent

Iris, who has been hanging out with Huda since the show ended, has revealed she “does not condone racism.” She said that she “won’t take it lightly as it’s harmful and hurtful” and asks people to “keep showing love and empathy towards each other.”

Amaya and Huda were closer than anything, as we saw on the reunion where they held hands. However, since the video came out, Amaya claims to have reached out to both Huda and Louis, claiming that Olandria was “unfairly targeted.”
