23-year-old actress dies just days after her very first acting role debuted on Disney
A star from the show has spoken out
Not even a month after her very first TV show, 9-1-1: Nashville, debuted on Disney+, Isabelle Tate died from a rare neurological disorder.
9-1-1: Nashville, a continuation of Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1 universe, dropped on October 9 with LeAnn Rimes, Jessica Capshaw, Michael Provost, and a range of other names stepping into the shoes of emergency responders. 23-year-old Isabelle Tate featured in the pilot of the show, but just 10 days after her first acting job was shown to the world, she died from “a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.”
Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) is a “rare multisystem, multiorgan disease that causes lifelong, progressive symptoms, including muscle weakness and atrophy in the arms and legs, sensory loss, and other complications. These symptoms often lead to challenges with balance, walking, hand use, and other daily activities.”
Isabelle was first diagnosed with CMT when she was 13.

The death of 9-1-1: Nashville’s Isabelle Tate was announced on Thursday
Described as an animal lover who “wanted to change the world”, Isabelle Tate’s obituary detailed her many passions and interests.
“Isabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others,” it read.
“She was also quite musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing a few. What she loved the most though was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party. Her sister was her best friend and her mom was her shining beacon of light.”

Her talent agency also shared a statement on Instagram: “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She was 23. I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1 Nashville. She had a wonderful time.”
Hunter McVey, who stars in the show as stripper-turned-firefighter, Blue Bennings, also offered a statement to PEOPLE after the news broke.
“I was shocked to hear the news. I didn’t know Isabelle prior to filming, but I couldn’t have asked for someone better to work with on one of my first ever days on set,” he said.

“I was terrified, nervous, and after each take we would get to exchange a couple words which were always supportive from her. I got the pleasure of talking with her after the scene and she had such a great energy. You could tell she brought joy to a lot of people. I’m thankful I got a chance to work with Isabelle and that a part of her will live on forever in the pilot episode of 9-1-1 Nashville. Prayers for her family.”
