Samsung is absolutely rinsing Apple’s new iPhone 17, and the tweets are brutal

It has launched a roasting campaign

Another year, another shiny new iPhone, and another round of Samsung dunking on it. Apple has just unveiled the iPhone 17 lineup at its big “Awe Dropping” event in California. While loads of people are still arguing over whether it’s worth the frankly wild price tag, Samsung has already started rinsing it hard.

Apple was hyping up “the most powerful and advanced Pro models ever,” but Samsung Mobile US launched a full-on roasting campaign using the hashtag #iCant, and honestly, the tweets are brutal.

So, here are all the drags Samsung threw at Apple’s new lineup:

Camera shade: 48MP vs 200MP

Apple made a big deal about the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max having three new 48MP Fusion cameras, claiming it gives users “the equivalent of eight lenses in their pocket.”

But Samsung wasn’t impressed. Taking a direct shot at Apple’s specs, it tweeted: “48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP #iCant”

The burn was a reminder that Samsung’s own Galaxy flagships already have a 200MP main sensor, and it’s not letting anyone forget it.

Innovation or just hype?

Apple also showed off new pro-level video features like ProRes RAW and its longest-ever 8x optical zoom. But Samsung dismissed it all as marketing spin. Replying to YouTuber Marques Brownlee’s post about Apple’s announcements, it said: “Actual innovation > hype #iCant.”

Late to the party

Samsung then dragged Apple for finally adding features Galaxy users have had for years, like sleep tracking and live translation. The tweets read: “#iCant believe some people had to wait 5 years for Sleep Score” and “Welcome to the party #iCant.”

‘Let us know when it folds’

And if the trolling felt familiar, that’s because Samsung recycled one of its old digs too. Quote-tweeting itself from 2022, when it mocked Apple for not having foldable phones, it wrote: “#iCant believe this is still relevant.”

Apple says the iPhone 17 Pro is its “most powerful iPhone ever,” but judging from Samsung’s timeline, not everyone is buying the hype.
