Amy Bradley isn’t alone: 13 others are missing from cruise ships right now in strange cases

One went on a snorkelling excursion and was never seen again

It turns out, cruise ships see a lot of people go missing. The case of Amy Bradley baffled us all, as it was explained in Amy Bradley Is Missing on Netflix. But she’s definitely not alone.

Right now, listed on International Cruise Victims, are 13 others who have gone missing whilst on cruise ships. But, as the website states: “The events featured are not meant to represent an exhaustive list of all cruise crimes. These are the tragic stories of those who have bravely come forward to share their experiences.”

As well as Amy Bradley, 13 others are currently listed as missing after vanishing from cruise ships

There are so many different stories of people going missing from cruises, and they all have strange and unexplained elements to them.

Ariel Marion

via International Cruise Victims

Probably the most similar to that of Amy Bradley’s story is a woman called Ariel Marion. Ariel Marion had also been on a Royal Caribbean cruise with family, and went missing when she was 21.

One evening, at around 8pm, Ariel told her mother she was going to the pool, and her mother decided to take a nap. It was then reported someone had seen “something or someone” falling from a higher deck. A search began, and it was believed Ariel had fallen overboard. But, Ariel’s body has never been found.

Richard Fearnside

Also listed on International Cruise Victims is Richard Fearnside, who went missing in 2020. He had just turned 30 when he vanished in the middle of the night, from a P&O ferry. His fiancée was the last person to report seeing him. She said he had gone on deck for a cigarette.

Nobody reported seeing Richard, and there was no CCTV onboard. Due to lack of evidence, it was assumed Richard had jumped and nothing more came of it. His family has since set up a campaign to request P&O adds CCTV to its boats. Over 100k have since signed.

George Allen Smith IV

George Allen Smith IV went missing whilst on honeymoon. He and his wife were on a Royal Caribbean 12-day Mediterranean cruise. A night that began with a romantic dinner for two ended with the tragic death of George. He had “accidentally” fallen overboard, according to cruise officials and the ship’s captain.

Blood stains were found in his cabin as well as on the side of the ship. Police had suspected foul play. His wife has said not enough was done, and stories don’t add up.

“We all simply deserve to know the truth behind what happened to George,” she said. “I continue to offer a $100,000 reward for new information directly leading to the arrest or conviction of the person or persons responsible for my husband George’s death. Someone knows the truth about my husband’s death.”

The case has also been depicted in TV film Deadly Honeymoon, which still airs on Lifetime.

Blake Kepley

20-year-old Blake Kepley disappeared on a cruise, and again, was just assumed to have gone overboard. However, according to the cruise ship, there is no camera footage of Blake going overboard. “It appears he just vanished. This is just not acceptable,” his family said.

Christopher Paul Caldwell

Christopher Paul Caldwell had gone on a Carnival Cruise to Mexico with his fiancée. On the last night, Chris and his fiancée went to dinner with some friends they had met on the cruise. When everyone else went back to their cabins, he stayed out. He never returned. You guessed it, he was presumed dead and nothing else came of it.

Merrian Carver

Merrian Carver, a 40-year-old woman, disappeared from a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska in August of 2004. At the end of the cruise, cruise line officials simply boxed up her belongings and even disposed of most of her items. It was noted she hadn’t used her room since the second night of the cruise, so it was simply concluded she got off the boat and never returned.

Rebecca Coriam

23-year-old Rebecca Coriam went missing whilst working on a Disney Cruise. She was on board the ship when it left port for a Mexican cruise on March 21, 2011. She sent a message on Facebook to her parents to say she would call them the next day.

Their next report was from a Disney official saying Rebecca had missed her work shift and could not be found. Since then, despite some evidence suggesting that she may still be alive, there have been no confirmed sightings of Rebecca. She was last seen “looking distressed” in CCTV from the boat.

John Dresp

John Dresp vanished in 2005 from Norwegian Dream. He had been on the boat with his brother, and his brother’s wife. One on day, they all went snorkelling at the Belize barrier reef. At some point in the water, John vanished and was never rescued.

Diving crew are said to have looked over the water and said he was “probably with the other guests at the reef.” Eventually they made a more complete search, then got other boats and an aircraft involved. After a week of searching, John’s body was never found.

Angelo Faliva

Angelo Faliva was a first cook on the Coral Princess cruise ship. It is believed Angelo vanished from the ship on the evening of November 25th, 2009. He reportedly had recently had an argument with a senior member of staff on the boat.

Around 8:15 pm that night, Angelo returned to the kitchen from the dining room, where he had been speaking with two passengers. He was seen entering a lift that went to lower decks, areas open only to employees. There is no security filming of workplaces (except for ship casinos) or non-public areas on board, and shipboard security cameras do not monitor restaurant dining rooms. He was never seen again.

Annette Mizener

In 2004, Annette Mizener vanished on the last night of a nine-day Mexican Riviera cruise with her parents and daughter. Annette’s beaded purse had been found with beads missing, and her family claimed it had been “wiped clean”. A lot of the focus of the investigation was around how many drinks she’d had, and no conclusion was ever made.

Hue Pham and Hue Tran

While onboard the Carnival Cruise Line ship Destiny, Hue Pham (age 71) and Hue Tran (age 67), disappeared between the islands of Barbados and Aruba. This happened in 2005. The search and rescue mission was called off in less than 13 hours from the presumed time of their disappearance.

They have been assumed dead, but the family is still calling for more information.

Jason Rappe

Jason and his wife Tine went on a cruise with Holland America Cruise lines in November 2020. They were having the time of their life until one night when Jason vanished. His family has been given no real information as to what exactly happened, or how. All they know is that he somehow “went overboard.” His hat was found on deck – that’s all the evidence there is.
