This woman was supposed to be on the Air India flight but a 10-minute delay saved her
They wouldn’t let her board the plane
A woman who was supposed to board the Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London which crashed has spoken out after a 10-minute delay saved her life.
Bhoomi Chauhan was due to travel back to London on flight AI 171, where she moved two years ago on a study visa, but got stuck in traffic on her way to the airport and missed her flight. She had been visiting family in her hometown.
“The flight was scheduled to take off at 1:10 pm. The boarding procedure was over at 12:10pm and I reached at 12.20pm. I had reached the check-in gate and requested them to allow me to board the flight. I told them I shall clear all the formalities quickly but they did not allow me to proceed,” she told ANI.
“We arrived at the check-in gate 10 minutes late, but they didn’t allow me, and I returned. They said that it would delay the flight further.”
“I was late because I was stuck in traffic in the Ahmedabad city area. When I came to know that the flight had crashed, I was totally numb. I thank my mother Goddess that I am safe, but the incident is absolutely terrifying,” the woman explained.
She was just about to walk out of the airport when she learnt about the crash. Bhoomi said: “I began shivering. My legs started trembling. I felt numb for quite some time.”
