Here’s where all the Birmingham universities ranked in Complete University Guide 2026

It’s bad news for the UoB vs Warwick rivalry

It’s that time of year again where UK unis are pitted against each other to determine which one reigns supreme.

Taken more seriously than even Varsity matches, the Complete University Guide 2026 was recently released signifying the opportunity for university rivals to size themselves up against the competition.

So for any competitive students wanting to find our how their uni performed or for incoming freshers eager to confirm whether their choice was right, here’s how Birmingham universities ranked in the league table.

The University of Birmingham placed 14th in the rankings with a score of 781 out of a possible 1,000, dropping one position from their 2025 rating. Although this is respectable in a year that saw many Russell Group unis miss out on a coveted top 20 spot, it’s bad news for those hoping to gain the edge over Warwick with the rival university beating us by securing ninth place.

A silver lining for UoB students: We beat Warwick when it comes to facility spending. I guess Sport and Fitness and the Teaching and Learning stairs will never be outdone.

Other Birmingham universities featured on the league table include Aston, Birmingham City, and Birmingham Newman. University College Birmingham was not ranked by the Complete Guide, which it claims is either as the university fails to meet the criteria or has asked to not be included.

Aston came 44th in the list with a score of 644 but did beat UoB in regards to student satisfaction, despite dropping five spots from its previous ranking.

However, Aston’s building, optometry, ophthalmics, and orthoptics courses ranked in the top 10 in subject league tables.

Birmingham City listed at 102nd in the table with 479 points, a drastic decrease from its position of 92nd last year. But its information technology and systems as well as land and property management courses did rank in the top 10 subject league tables.
