Disney adults are getting dragged again after splashing money on ‘deluded’ magical experience
I admire their unwavering perseverance to being cringe as hell
Disney adults are being dragged once again, this time over the Key to Disneyland experience that is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the park.
Thanks to the ever-encroaching power of Instagram and TikTok, most of us have been confronted with Disney adult content when we least expected it. They seem more plentiful than ever before, ingesting every crumb of Disney content and spending an unholy amount of time at the hugely overpriced attractions.
According to the global authority on the meanings of internet words, Urban Dictionary, Disney adults are “a millennial adult, with or without kids, that can’t stop talking about Disney, including the movies and the parks. Even if they do have kids, they’re still way more obsessed with it than their kids ever would be. They probably engage in casual ‘Disneybounding’ and visit the theme parks at least once a year.
“They are obsessed with everything Disney and probably have a Mickey Mouse bumper sticker and/or tattoo. One of the most terrifyingly intense people you’ll ever encounter.”
There’s never been any shortage of topics to drag the fully grown superfans over, but now there’s another.

To celebrate the park’s anniversary, Disney created the Key to Disneyland experience, which, to most people, is a clear and obvious cash grab.
“Embark on a journey to unlock magical surprises—including a special keepsake—during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration!” the official tagline reads.
As per the official site, the Key to Disneyland experience begins when you purchase your key at select shops in Disneyland Park or at World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District. The keys, made of the usual chunky plastic, are priced at $59.99.

The key is then inserted into nine distinct lockboxes across the park, with an icon of the area and bubbles signalling your success. You then repeat the process eight more times, finishing at the Mickey Topiary Finale, where you’ll receive one of nine commemorative pins.
That’s basically it, to be honest.
The lines are absolutely massive

Long lines and excruciating wait times are nothing new at Disneyland, but at least the usual payoff is an overpriced rollercoaster and not a shoddy pin. Videos featuring Disney adults enjoying the Key to Disneyland experience showcase huge lines of people waiting for their keys. In one particular video posted to TikTok, there were literally hundreds of people waiting to see some bubbles.

As you can probably imagine, amidst the super happy videos from Disney Adults, people are dragging the Key to Disneyland experience and calling it another “deluded” and “capitalist” cash grab.
“Imagine paying hundreds of dollars per person to go into a park with too many people, and lines for literally everything. Then imagine that you spend an additional $60 for a key and then have to wait in line for hours to not unlock a ride, but some bubbles and a pin. Disney adults are delusional,” one person wrote.
Another said: “I wanna see the eventual crash out video of a family waiting in line thinking it’s for Rise only to learn it’s a scavenger hunt they need to pay $60 for.”
Someone else pointed out: “So I might be able to take my kids to Disneyland and they can actually ride the rides cause the Disney adults are in this money pit? Yay!”
Other people have claimed to have a hack for the experience, explaining: “On the wand, there’s a reset hole on the handle (bottom), it will unlock all of them, I guess a guy on TikTok did a video on it.”
