Cassie reveals the disturbing nickname that Diddy allegedly forced her to call him

‘I thought it was weird at the time’

Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura, better known as Cassie, appeared in court to testify against Diddy this week. On the stand, the singer and model revealed the disturbing nickname she was allegedly forced to call the rapper.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested last September and is facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, the BBC reports. The 55-year-old, who is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, has denied all of the charges.

The trial is currently taking place in New York, and Cassie, who he dated on and off for over a decade from 2007 to 2018, took to the stand and accused Diddy of physical abuse, claiming he would “frequently” assault her.

She also claimed that Diddy forced her to call him “Pop Pop,” which is disturbingly the nickname she used for her grandfather, as revealed by a reporter for the New York Times who was in the courtroom.

“He wanted me to have a nickname for him. He asked me what I called my grandfather, and I said I called him Pop Pop,” the 38-year-old said on the stand. “I thought it was weird at the time. I did it, but now I think it was disrespectful.”

Cassie told the court that Diddy allegedly introduced her to “freak off” parties that could last several days, where she slept with male escorts while the rapper watched, directed, and recorded.

“The freak-offs became a job. There was no time to do anything else but do them then try to recover. The longest was four days, significant periods of time,” she said. “I hated it. I was an object being heavily objectified by men.”

She claimed it “wasn’t something she wanted to be doing,” but she was in love and “wanted to make him happy,” adding: “At some point I felt I didn’t have much of a choice. I didn’t know what ‘no’ could turn into.”

Cassie is due to continue testifying in court over the following days. If found guilty, Diddy could spend the rest of his life in prison.
