Russell Group uni thrown into utter chaos by huge email chain mishap
Why is there a hedgehog involved?!
One Russell Group uni has been thrown into chaos after a giant email chain was accidentally created, seemingly including all the students and staff.
Every student at Durham University received an email about an ecology assignment due in that afternoon. Several students responded, creating a huge chain with hundreds of messages. Some of the content on there is rather, erm, interesting.
Dr Kieran Lawrence sent an email reminding his ecology students that an analytical report was due in at 2pm the next day. However, due to an error or technological glitch, this email appears to have gone to everyone with an email address ending with “durham.ac.uk” – including all Durham University students and staff.

This email unintentionally went to everyone at Durham University
Several bewildered students from other courses seem to have panicked that they too were expected to write an ecology report, replied, and unintentionally emailed the whole of Durham University.
Others seized the opportunity to contact the whole of Durham University in one go. Students have received bizarre emails including adverts for societies, dating profiles, and a transcript of Bee Movie.

Emails on the chain
Students were also informed via the same email chain that a hedgehog was spotted near a library and that they should “refrain from panic”.

The plot thickens
