The explanation behind the No la polizia TikTok sound that’s giving you chronic brain rot
Justice for Tung Tung Sahur
How much of TikTok is actually entertaining content and how much of it is brain rot is arguable, and I’m not even sure I’d be able to determine the difference anymore.
From Sylvanian drama to imagining us in Dubai, my brain is in a constant loop of random sounds and pop culture references that you will only recognise if you’re also chronically online. And if you are, you’ll have heard the “no la polizia” TikTok sound and no doubt have questions.
Here’s where no la polizia TikTok sound originated from
@brainrot7708
The sound has been used for multiple AI generated videos where random objects get arrested by the police – it’s the dictionary definition of brain rot.
The original seems to have been posted by user @brainrot7708, who used the sound alongside an AI skeleton crying whilst seemingly being arrested by police whilst the audio goes: “Nooo, la polizia, noo.” I don’t know either.
Since then, the account made a number of other AI Italian brain rot clips using the sound, all which make absolutely zero sense but still seem to resonate with people in some weird way. They make me genuinely fearful for Gen Z.
The no la polizia TikTok sound quickly caught on and has since been used for more AI generated clips that show random non existent creatures… being arrested by police. And they have millions of likes. People have taken the theme and ran with it, with these creatures even being pursued underwater now.
And some of them are literally humanised pieces of wood – named Tung Tung Sahur.

The likely explanation for so many people using it for AI brain rot is likely due to the original being quite unhinged. It seems like people are keen to one up the chaos in order to create the most random content ever. We’ve waited years for AI and this is how we as a generation choose to use it.
There’s even a whole series of Tung Tung Sahur now, with one user even using AI to make him have a baby with a cup of coffee. And I’m fully invested.
The sound is really universal so it’s also being memed a lot, with loads of people using it to share relatable POVs like “When someone asks me ‘Are you ready to go back to school?'”

If you don’t know the sound by now, you can safely say your brain is not rotted but for the rest of us, it’s not looking good. My favourite one is the video of the Tung Tung Sahur beating up a shark, before he’s ambushed and arrested by police.
