Tony reveals the full reason he didn’t tell MAFS wife Morena about wanting children sooner

On MAFS Australia, Tony just made the seemingly quite random decision of telling his wife Morena he wanted kids. The pair had never discussed children before, and Tony had never said much about his wish to start a family.

Morena, aged 57, already has children of her own. She had been quite unaware that her husband wanted a family – and said she wasn’t in a position to have any more kids. During friends and family week, Morena’s friends suggested Tony be honest with his feelings, as Morena felt they didn’t get on purely because of her age.

On the show, the revelation seemed to come from nowhere, and Tim just sort of passed it off as something he’d not really thought about before now. He said he’d considered wanting children in the past, but hadn’t thought about with Morena before this bombshell moment.

But in an interview since the show, he’s said having a family has always been on his mind, and is a key part of what he wants in life.

“It’s always been on my mind,” Tony told 9Entertainment of having a baby one day. “That’s probably the only thing in my life missing. I’ve seen and done everything you can imagine… I just haven’t had a baby yet.”

He also said it wasn’t just a case of being able to bring it up straight away. Tony explained why he waited so long to tell Morena he wanted children. He said because she already had kids, he needed to work out how they would fit into his life. He explained he could have treated Morena’s children like his own, if things had gone well for them.

“When I met Morena on the wedding day she had two beautiful kids, so in my eyes if something did happen between us then I would treat those kids like they were mine,” Tony explained.

Ok, it all makes a bit more sense now!
