Why the Love Island 2026 Islanders are suddenly posting ‘tart’ on all of Lorenzo’s posts

After weeks and weeks of drama and breakups, Love Island winner Lorenzo has now been plagued with other Islanders commenting the word “tart” on all of his Instagram posts. Is this some weird, low level beef brewing? 

After splitting from Julia, Lorenzo didn’t exactly have the best look when he went live seemingly not caring, and then his dad ranted about Julia on his Instagram story. It all got a bit messy. Since all this, Lorenzo has been commenting on Jasmine’s posts, and her boyfriend Kavan has now unfollowed him.

So, a lot of people are claiming there’s a big divide among the Love Island 2026 cast, and just as people have thought this, loads of the cast are commenting on Lorenzo’s posts. “Top tart,” Yasmin said on a photo dump he shared over the weekend. Samraj added: “Incredibly tarty sir.”

Joining the comment section, one person replied that “this is a new one” and another called the comments “foul”. Guys, chill. It’s all a bit much, if I’m honest.

There’s actually a very simple, and incredibly not deep reason for the comments. It’s an inside joke, guys! Shock! We don’t actually know the Islanders as well as we think we do. 

The group chat the Islanders made after the show is called “Love Island Tarts” and the chat was set up by Lorenzo. “Lorenzo made the name. And the girlies have our own group chat as well,” Angelista previously said.  

As for the beef with Kavan and Jasmine, that’s a whole other ball game. “Kavan has unfollowed Lorenzo, they drifted apart following the show and haven’t really been in the same circle,” a source told The Sun of what happened there.

So no, this isn’t some sort of beef aimed at Lorenzo and his activity on socials outside the villa. A fun theory, mind you, but only that.
